The hardest part about going through high school isn't necessarily getting good grades, but navigating the complex social hierarchies that exist among classmates and friends. School 26 is an upcoming casual sim that lets players step into the shoes of a student named Kate as she tries to make friends and keep them at her 26th new school.

Valve is still selling that special in-game gear for Team Fortress 2 to aid Japan, and the company will continue doing so until Wednesday, April 6.
For now, though, let's check in to see how much money has been raised. (Just forget what you read in the headline and prepare to act surprised.) Over $300,000, as of yesterday. Either you guys adore those collectible hats, enjoy helping out those in need, or both. Warm fuzzies GET.
"Anytime someone gives you guff about something negative in gaming, you go ahead and point them to this post, because here's some late-breaking damn news: they are wrong and gamers are generous and awesome" -- TF2 team.

We all know that Kinect is capable of more than some of the current games show. Developer Rare really sounds like they're interested in tapping that power, which they call "virtually limitless." The studio says that they have only taken advantage of "10 to 15 percent" of Kinect's technical potential so far.
Rare recently took home a BAFTA award for Kinect Sports, and it sounds like they're still hot for the motion sensing technology. At a talk in London, Rare software director Nick Burton said that the studi's next Kinect project would take advantage of more of the device's features. CVG's coverage of the talk mentioned that the firm is interested in Kinect's layers of 3D infrared depth reading, ability to track body points and voice recognition.
I'd bet that Rare is going to show something really neat at E3 this year. I'd love to see a game that goes past what we've seen for Kinect so far. Less avatars and more immersive gameplay. When will we get up to 40 percent? 50 percent?

I loved Vanillaware games, investing ridiculous amounts of time into Odin Sphere and Muramasa: The Demon Blade. It's been a while since we heard anything from the studio, but the latest issue of Famitsu has revealed what they have been working on for the last two years.
Grand Knights History is a traditional, turn-based RPG, something new for the developer. They're attempting to take it in some new directions, however, trying to fuse offline and online gameplay to create an original experience. Vanillaware's project director Tomohiko Deguchi has called it, "a full-on war that all the users are connected together in."
Color me intrigued. The idea of a traditional RPG involving online players sounds so alien to me that I'd have to see it in action before forming any sort of opinion on how that might play out. Grand Knights History is being developed for the PlayStation Portable and is expected to release in Japan this summer. No US release has been announced as of this time.

Upcoming Xbox 360, PC and PS3 2-player cop-op action game The Cursed Crusade looks good. The trailer Atlus has up on their teaser page excites -- rousing music, slashing swords, in-your-face action, realistic vistas. The game is still in development, but the developers took the time to share some new screenshots with us today.
The new screens show protagonists Denz and Esteban getting their warrior on. They're getting all swordy and medieval for you. They're getting all muscle-y and shield-y for you. The ground is cobblestoned like a MF for you. All for you, gamer. All for you.
It looks great, I think. I also think that a split-screen romp with a friend could be pretty fun in this setting. Hopefully we'll hear more about how that works soon.
For now, enjoy the screenshots in our gallery below.

NEWS - Does doubling the speed-of in-game physics processing make you feel "funny?"
How 'bout delivering realistic collision effects within online gaming environments? I'm lightheaded just writing it.
If so, you'll be excited to learn that Funcom's proprietary Dreamworld 2.5 engine for MMOs is the first to bring server-side NVIDIA PhysX to the PC world at large.
This tech is now live in the Dreamworld powered Age of Conan.
Funcom also recently introduced a new, fully rewritten render engine for Age of Conan. This new engine brings major performance upgrades on high-end systems and new visual features for lower end machines.

All I gotta say is GRAPHICS!!

This is a gameplay video for 99Bullets, coming soon to DSiWare from EnjoyUp Games. As you can see, it's a shoot-em-up where you control a little green robot flying through space and destroying all enemies in your path with your advanced, 4-directional shooting. What distinguishes it from most other games is that it adds a combo system for greater scoring, making the game as much about not being in the path of things as being in their path at the right time to destroy enemies and maximize points.
This is one of the major reasons I like arcade-style games. They have fundamental, core gameplay concepts that are so simple, any change to them can dramatically change the nature of the game itself. One little tweak or addition creates an entirely new game with new strategies that have to be adopted to accommodate them. I can't say how much fun 99Bullets is going to be, but I appreciate that it exists.
