At its community day in Hollywood this evening, Insomniac Games revealed that its upcoming shooter Resistance 3 will support PlayStation Move motion controls. Additionally, control support for the Sharp Shooter attachment is being worked in due to player demand, apparently.
"After Killzone 3 launched, we heard a massive amount of positive feedback, and were inundated with requests to support both PlayStation Move and sharp shooter," writes Insomniac's James Stevenson. "So we’re glad to be able to finally confirm the news!"
The title will also support Stereoscopic 3D, the developer said. Looks like I have until September 6, when Resistance 3 hits shelves, to get me one of those fancy new 3D televisions, eh?

There's the old saying that whenever Deus Ex is mentioned, someone, somewhere, reinstalls their copy of the game. For me, it's the same thing, but with Minecraft.
The 1.4 update should be arriving this week, and with it come a number of exciting features. Stat tracking, achievements, wolves, and the option to change your starting location, to name a few. Something for everyone, even if you aren't particularly down with achievements as a whole.

NEWS - This weekend I had the honor of being a guest on Co-Opticast, the official podcast of Co-Optimus. I'm a big fan of the site and the work they do over there so I was honored when Nick invited me on. The result has now been posted and you can listed to the Co-Optimus crew and I talking about if we have too many game conventions, talk about the games we are playing, and some other general industry chatter. It's pretty good stuff despite my presence and hopefully you have half as much fun listening to it as I had joining the guys.

Well, would you look at that -- there are even more sales on Xbox Live Arcade to deal with. This week, we're trying to be sold on some admittedly rather solid titles, which are now being offered at more affordable prices. Scoff at ten-dollar digital distribution games? These discounts are for you.
See what I mean? Very nice line-up. I'm sure many of you have passed on Raskulls and the Keflings games before, so I'd suggest giving them another look. Also, Doom II. You know you want it.

SAN FRANCISCO PEOPLE: Anamanaguchi is playing at the DNA Lounge on April 7. Perfect for all you West Coast kids who can't make it up to New York for Blipfest 2011. Plus a ton of Destructoid staff will be at the show so come hang out with us!
Also performing are The Glowing Stars. Never heard of them? That's because they're a new local chiptune band and the Anamanaguchi show is the their debut performance. Vocals and chiptunage is performed by Lizzie Cuevas, better known as that girl who talks sh*t about sh*tty game trailers on Games Radar. You can check out a couple of their tracks on the official website.
Also playing the show is Peelander-Z. They have nothing to do with gaming, but they're F*CKING AWESOME. They're a Japanese punk band that sing about tacos and interacts with the crowd constantly. I saw them live earlier this year and they literally gave random audience members their own instruments to play.
The show is open to all ages, starts at 8:00PM and tickets are only $12 for advance tickets or $16 at the door. See you there!

HHHHNNNNNNGGGGGG! F*ck! I tried bidding. Tried and tried. I just can't swing this on my blogger salary. Every bid I submitted was pushed up by another. And this auction only just went up!
Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka has put up for auction his beloved guitar, amp and effects box that he used to compose the music for Konami's horror series. The proceeds go to Play for Japan, a game industry relief effort that has already raised over $23,000 so far. I was willing to put in another $1,000 or so for that cause, but my money isn't good enough here!
He's giving up the Yamaha APX-15FM that he bought right before composing the first Silent Hill soundtrack as well as his Line 6 FB4 and a Line 6 POD. These items are legendary in my mind as they have since been used for every Silent Hill soundtrack since. Even more so when you consider that they were used in live performances at Video Games Live concerts. Yamaoka himself says that giving this gear up is nothing compared to losses the people of Touhoku suffered due to the earthquakes and tsunamis.
Those that know me know that I'm a huge Akira Yamaoka fan. One of the highlights of my career is being able to meet and interview him. As a musician, getting the gear he used to create the soundtrack to one of my favorite game series would be incredible. The included autograph would just be icing on the cake. But I've not got the scratch. Still, I'm glad to see that this much money is going toward the relief efforts.
Check out other Play for Japan auctions here.
