The initial shipment of 400,000 units for 3DS have completely sold out during first day sales in Japan. A majority held by people who had preordered the system. Andriasang [Nikkei] states that Japanese retailers recieved only 400k units in total, although a second shipment arrived on the second day. The Japanese 3DS launch offerings included: [...]

With all the WiiWare games that have mysteriously disappeared or have been outright canceled over the past year or so, I figured that we might never see La-Mulana hit Nintendo's struggling service. Looks like I was wrong about that, as the team at Nigoro has just announced that they're resubmitting the game to Nintendo for approval "in a few days". I really hope it goes through, as the game has been on my personal "most anticipated" list for a while.
To celebrate this event, the guys at Nigoro will be doing a live stream of the game tonight at 10pm PST. They've also released a few new screenshots. Looks like the game definitely has its share of "Mickey Mouse Vs. The Terminator" moments. The battles against a giant eyeball and big boobed goat demon are especially true to that "cute-meets-horrific" concept.
Looks pretty awesome to me. What do you think?

Add to myYahoo!Tomb Raider's Lara Croft has a habit of shooting first, shooting again, shooting once more, and then maybe thinking about asking a question or two later. Adult Swim's Robot Chicken takes a look at an average Lara Croft encounter from the point of view of the monsters and ancient traps guarding the unholy prize. After watching this video clip, I think you'll find why it's obvious that the monsters are so eager for Lara to cart away their relic.

Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that he wants Mii characters to become the global standard for avatar creation and find their way into everything like some terrible, adorable disease.
“Simply put, I want to spread Mii characters all around the world,” said the impish developer. “Exchanging it with people close to you is a given. Whether you use StreetPass or through the network, I want to implement Mii characters in all sorts of ways. Ultimately, I want Mii characters to be the world standard for avatars.
“I hope that in the future, when you have to go to the city hall for some formality, they’ll ask you to submit your Mii character too [laughs]. If it becomes a worldwide format, it’ll be fun. Purely and simply, I just want everyone to use it in a variety of ways. Well, that ambition about the city hall thing might be a bit extreme, but I do want Mii to be more widely used."
The 3DS launched in Japan this week, and it sold out almost immediately. Shigeru's dream of a totalitarian dictatorship ruled by big-headed Jesuses and Hitlers seems to be headed towards reality. We will get to add our support for the new regime on March 27 in North America and March 25 in Europe.

I've been waiting patiently for the new HAWP to pop up on Gametrailers for days now. Turns out, I should have been watching for it to pop up on my TV instead. HAWP was featured on the "Going Viral" segment of the latest episode of Game Trailers TV, which recently aired on SPIKE. You can see it for yourself here, at around the 12 minute mark.
Now I'm keeping my eyes peeled for both a re-run of GTTV to pop up on Spike, and for HAWP to pop up as a stand alone episode on Game Trailers. As for you, why don't you keep your eyes peeled for the next episode of Constructoid, which will (probably) feature a very special pop up appearance from a HAWP regular.
Eyes peeled! Pop up! HAWP HAWP HAWP!
