Sonic Generations was just confirmed for 3DS through the latest Nintendo Power, and now we have more details on the nature of the gameplay. Chief of 'em all is that both play styles -- Classic and Modern -- will be side-scolling. The former will consist of the momentum-based action of the Genesis originals, while the latter will follow in the footsteps of the Sonic Rush series.
Aside from Green Hill Zone, no levels will be shared with the game's console brethren. Also confirmed is that Casino Night Zone and Classic Eggman -- I'm sorry, Classic Robotnik -- will appear. Yay!
The only niggling tidbit that might worry you is that the game is being directed by Tetsu Katano, the man who directed Sonic and the Black Knight. Let's pray that's not an ill omen.

Age of Conan: Unrated, a digital re-release of 2008's Hyborian Adventures, is bringing sexy back this summer. Funcom is doing what many MMO developers have found success in: turning a once-retail game into a free-to-play title.
Premium subscriptions will be offered, naturally, but they are completely optional. There's an overview of how the content is split up between paying and non-paying customers over here, if you're curious.
Just the other day I watched James Earl Jones fire a snake with a bow (!!!) on TV, and it reminded me of Age of Conan. Surprised to hear it made it this long before switching over to a new business model.

Good! That means that I don't have to go and report on it. You can just watch it yourself. I've got enough stuff to do that week. The Orpheum Theater is L.A. is lovely, but it's always a bitch to get out there and leave E3. Now I don't have to deal with ass-y WiFi.
Spike TV and EA are teaming up for a live broadcast of the Gamechangers: EA 2011 Preview event on Monday, June 6th, at 12:30 p.m. Pacific time. This is the event where EA always unveils their new titles for 2011 and beyond. So far we know you'll get to see new footage of Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 and SSX, Fifa Soccer 12 and a few more. I'm sure something new will also be unveiled. They always do that.
If you don't get Spike TV, MTV.com, EA.com and GameTrailers.com will have internet streams.

You read Nick's thoughts on the E3 demo of BioShock Infinite, so let's journey deeper into Columbia with some ads and propaganda posters direct from Irrational Games.
These and other works of art will be viewable in the game, but I'd rather look at them now without the threat of crazed patriots or The Songbird lurking behind me. Shame Infinite is so far away -- it's looking like another winner.

Australia's OFLC rating board has outed Aliens Infestation, a game developed by WayForward Technologies.
For those who have an excellent memory and a love of Xenomorphs, you may recall that WayForward and GearBox were working on a DS Aliens game, which shared the name of the console-bound Colonial Marines. Could this be that game, resurfaced with its own name?
The leaked footage of the DS game looked like a very cool scrolling shooter, like the good ol' days of Aliens games. It was thought canceled, or at least postponed. The OFLC never lists the right platform for the game, so we're not sure what system it's for. I'm crossing my fingers for the 3DS.
This little outing follows news that The Creative Assembly is making a Dead Space-esque Aliens game. With so many titles in the works, one of them has to strike it lucky and be good, right? Please let at least one of 'em be good!
