Nintendo eShop gets Metroid II and more

Nintendo eShop gets Metroid II and more screenshot

Starting November 24th Metriod fans will be able to buy Metroid II: Return of Samus from the eShop for the 3DS. In December Pushmo will be released, followed by Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword in January. This announcement comes shortly after a promise by Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Amie that the 3DS is worth owning and will be seeing more content released more regularly.

There are other games coming out besides the three listed above, and it seems like Nintendo is making some effort to get more games out to 3DS owners. Its just hard to get excited about. What do you think? Is this too little, too late? Or are you just thankful more games are finally being released?

Chu Chu Rocket! blasts off to Android

Chu Chu Rocket! blasts off to Android screenshot

Mouse Mania! Chu Chu Rocket! was one of my favorite Dreamcast games, and then later became one of my favorite Game Boy Advance games. Now I play it on my iPhone when I have downtime. Although I'll never need another version ever again, I'm glad to see that Sega's cat-and-mouse puzzler moves to another popular platform: Android.

It's now up on the Android marketplace for only $0.99. Sega says that a free version is also coming early next year.

ChuChu doesn't stop there. Sega says that this title is also slated to appear on "a number of additional new mobile platforms" in the coming months. What else is there? Windows phone?

(shameless plug)

Apple removes Big Fish Games subscription app
from App Store (Android)

Well that didn't take long. Earlier today we learned that Big Fish Games had become the first developer in Apple's App Store to use a subscription-based service for games, giving users Netflix-style access to content for a monthly fee. Now the app has been taken down.

Does this new Mutant Mudds trailer mean it's
almost here

Does this new Mutant Mudds trailer mean it's almost here? screenshot

You already know how I feel about Renegade Kid's Mutant Mudds. Next to Mighty Switch Force, it's my most anticipated 3DS eShop title. Last we heard, it was on track for December, and this latest trailer is giving me hope that the release date is fast approaching.

Enjoy some more chiptune-y goodness and foreground-background traversal in the meanwhile.

Assault Horizon gets planes, skins, but STILL no
Idols!

Assault Horizon gets planes, skins, but STILL no Idols! screenshot

It's Ace Combat DLC time! The first time you got pumpkin skins. The second time you got Tekken skins. This third time, you get not only skins, but new planes. This time, the canard-equipped F-15S/MT D and the Tornado GR.4 will take to the skies. On the skin front, a "Stars and Stripes" motif will grace the F-117 Stealth Fighter, and a warthog face will ugly up the A-10 Thunderbolt.

It's practically everything an Ace Combat fan desires, except for me, who just wants some Idolm@ster-themed skins. Also, I want for Namco to not charge ridiculous amounts for its DLC ($4.99 each for the planes, and $3.99 each for the skins).

Crazy people can pay too much money on November 29th. You nice, sane people can instead opt to watch a clip of "Change!!!!" below. Who wouldn't want these girls on their jet planes?!

Tongue Tied Preview (iPhone, iPad)

Dogs don't get much more adorable than Mick and Ralph. Even though the two of them have managed to get their tongues tied into a knot, the stars of Tongue Tied are more than happy to run through the countryside and just pick up tasty bones wherever they can.

If you've got a flight coming up with Jetstar Airways, odds are that you'll have a relatively long flight. Blame Piracy: I Am Alive not likely for PC

Blame Piracy: I Am Alive not likely for PC screenshot

Woah. Stanislas Mettra, creative director at Ubisoft for I Am Alive, has something up his ass recently. You can't blame him, though. He's pissed about piracy, and that's why I Am Alive might not see a PC release.

"We’ve heard loud and clear that PC gamers are bitching about there being no version for them," Mettra told IncGamers.com. "But are these people just making noise just because there’s no version or because it’s a game they actually want to play? Would they buy it if we made it?"

Damn, son! You'll feel less good about a PC version when you hear Mettra lay out then numbers required for a port:

"It’s hard because there’s so much piracy and so few people are paying for PC games that we have to precisely weigh it up against the cost of making it. Perhaps it will only take 12 guys three months to port the game to PC, it’s not a massive cost but it’s still a cost. If only 50,000 people buy the game then it’s not worth it."

It sounds like piracy is forcing this publisher away from the platform. That's sad.

I Am Alive will be released some time this winter for PSN and Xbox Live Arcade.

Art Juice: The results of I Am Alive not being on
PC

Art Juice: The results of I Am Alive not being on PC screenshot

[Every week (until I get bored), Art Juice takes a recent videogame story and provides an unremittingly artistic slant, telling us a little something about ourselves in the process ... whether we want to know the truth or not!]

This particular piece of art took me several hours to make.

You can see how deeply it punches your emotions.
