Water is just a pretty background decoration in most video games, but in Vessel it becomes a key part of the gameplay. Created by indie developer Strange Loop games in collaboration with indiePub, Vessel features "liquid physics" gameplay, which is a fancy way of saying you'll be using realistically simulated liquids such as water, lava, glowing goo, and more to solve puzzles.

New Archie Sonic special ties in to Sonic 4: Episode II screenshot

Switching gears from Mega Man, let's talk about Archie's other, much bigger videogame comic, Sonic the Hedgehog. This one might interest some of you non-Sonic comic fans, as it offers clues towards the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II.

Sonic Super Special is a quarterly magazine that covers the Archie Sonic universe. For the third issue, there will be a pair of special comic chapters included. The first is a Sonic CD adaptation, which is in fact a reprint that appeared in one of the earliest issues in the Archie Sonic chronology. The second is a prologue that leads up to the events in Episode II.

As of this moment, all we know of Episode II is that it relates somehow to Sonic CD and that Metal Sonic will feature prominently. The game is expected to release in the second half of this year, and the magazine should arrive this spring. If you are the kind of Sonic fan who dearly cares about the games' narrative and how it all ties together, this could possibly be worth your time.

When you write for a videogame blog, you know when lot of people are going to read your new post. Writing about SOPA, Resident Evil 6, Grand Theft Auto 5; these are the kind of stories that millions of people already have a vested interest in.

Then there are the times when you're pretty sure someone might have vested interest in what you're writing about, but there is no way to be sure. It could be about some "indie" game, or "casual" game, or in this case, a Japanese Wii game about comic surrealism sound recognition called Kiki Trick. Does anyone think this is worth reading about? I hope so, because I certainly think it's worth writing about. Very few home console, retail-based games tries to do something completely different, and that's what Kiki Trick is all about.

Above you'll find a video of one of Kiki Trick's in-game toys, a little Gameboy-like device that lets you make an noodle-eating man blow his nose, fart, pick his teeth, and do other noisy things. Below you'll find a video of the actual gameplay, which appears to be about guessing what types of baseball sounds are in your martini. I'm also throwing in a video of some girls just chilling out with some Kiki Trick and basically keeping it real. I am including this video because I watched it for 30 seconds and thought it was alright.

This game looks weird and fun.

Cooperate or betray? Check these Good People Die vids screenshot

Still no word on whether the pants-tightening 999 sequel, Good People Die, will be hitting our shores this year, but there's no reason why we can't get ourselves just a leeeetle bit excited.

Above is what appears to be the game's opening cutscenes, featuring full-blown animation care of Gonzo (Hellsing, Afro Samurai). Since I'm assuming most of us aren't fluent in "Nihongo," a fan has graciously provided a serviceable, if not 100% accurate, translation. Make sure the annotations are on, then enjoy the tale of a boy, a girl, a giant robot man, and an evil rabbit AI.

After the jump, catch a clip detailing the rules of the Nonary Game: Ambidex Edition. Make sure subtitles (not annotations) are on for that one.
