New Gaga and Foreigner tunes in Rock Band 3 next
week

New Gaga and Foreigner tunes in Rock Band 3 next week screenshot

Harmonix has released the details on next week's DLC offerings for Rock Band 3. To coincide with the release of Lady Gaga's new album Born This Way, the title track from that album plus "Papparazzi" and "LoveGame" from her breakout release, The Fame. Classic Foreigner tracks "Hot Blooded" and "Urgent" round out the week's new tracks, while Alice in Chains' "Rooster" and The White Stripes' "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" will see Pro Guitar upgrade content available.

As is often the case, all of the Gaga tracks will be available alone or as part of "Lady Gaga Pack 02" for a slight savings.

I think this might be the first week in time unremembered that I've wanted every single track to release in a week for Rock Band. Time to dust off the old guitar, I think.

Deal North: Lots of games on sale

Deal North: Lots of games on sale screenshot

Target wants to give you a $60 gift card with a 160GB PS3, and they suggest you use it to buy L.A. Noire, which would use the whole card. That means no sodas and pretzels for you. You could also use it to buy some of the other games they'll have on sale this week and have enough left over for snacks. Seriously, I go to Target for snacks.

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, $29.99
  • FlingSmash (with Wii MotionPlus Remote), $19.99
  • Kirby's Epic Yarn, $19.99
  • Shift 2: Unleashed, $39.99
  • Bulletstorm, $39.99
  • Dead Space 2, $39.99
  • Crysis 2, $39.99

The folks at Amazon also have a few good deals and discounted games this week. Epic Mickey is only $19.99, as is James Bond 007: Goldeneye. This big ol' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Collector's Edition is about half off, priced at $42.07 now. Need some extra DualShock 3 controllers for that new PS3 you got at Target? Amazon has them for only $35.99.

Finally, GameStop has Fallout: New Vegas for only $19.99, for either system.

Hellgate: London returns as free-to-play MMO

Hellgate: London returns as free-to-play MMO screenshot

Remember Hellgate: London the ill-fate MMO that was released in 2007 and promptly fell flat on its face? Well, beyond all sense and reason, the game has clawed itself out of the grave and has returned with a new free-to-play model.

There will be a beta in June. My grim curiosity compels me to check it out. Keep an eye on the official site for more details as they come.

BurgerTime World Tour trailer is meaty and
tasteful

BurgerTime is an old favorite -- both the game and the actual time where you eat burgers. I like steakburgers the best; the kinds with the thin patties, doubled up, and then topped with lots of cheese. Freddy's does it well, and then gives me rockin' shoestring fries and frozen custard with it! That is my jam, son.

I could go on about the many other ways to do burgers well (Father's Office), but this post is about the upcoming game release from MonkeyPaw Games, BurgerTime World Tour. We have an early look at the official E3 trailer for the game. In it you'll see that Destructoid was quoted. In it you'll also get a peek at some of the fifty rotating, 3D levels of the game, which are located all over the world. Add in big bosses, co-op and new power-ups and you have one hell of an update.

I'm sure this all has made you hungry. I'm hungry enough to go to Five Guys now.

In-N-Out? Psssssh.

'Kinect Fun Lab' might be a Microsoft E3 reveal

'Kinect Fun Lab' might be a Microsoft E3 reveal screenshot

I think it's safe to say that Microsoft will be focusing on Kinect this E3, set to go down early June in Los Angeles. A source tells Siliconera that something called Kinect Fun Lab is in the works for a reveal at the event. It sounds...fun, and Kinect-y. You may be imagining some sort of a game of minigames using Kinect motions. I'm picturing a game where you have fun with a lively virtual Labrador Retriever puppy

There's another possible Kinect title called Kinect Me. This popped up on Australia's Classifications Board, and lists Microsoft as the publisher. Your guess is as good as mine on what kind of title this will be.

And while probably not Kinect related, two other titles showed up up on Australia's listings: Crimson Alliance and Fusion: Genesis. Siliconera says that Crimson Alliance is being developed by Certain Affinity, creators of Age of Booty.

P2 Press Start: Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers

P2 Press Start: Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers screenshot

[manasteel88 brings us this 2P Press Start post about a game many of us grew up with: Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. Check out our current call for Blogs, and start writing! -- JRo]

Friendship is something we all take for granted. A good friend will be there for you time and time again. They'll help you in your endeavors and be with you when it gets rough.

A bad friend will throw you off a ledge.

Don't be a bad friend.

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers pioneered the co-operative platformer. It took the simple act of playing a video game with somebody and turned it into a test of friendship. Using a simple pick and throw mechanic, Capcom recreated Chip and Dale's relationship perfectly in video game form.

The brothers began their lives as mischievous scamps who happened to have an affinity for Alphonse and Gaston lines. Causing trouble for ducks dressed as park rangers or dogs dressed as soldiers was a day to day occurrence for them.

Just because they shared the same tree however, doesn't mean they were always the best of friends. Many of their pranks would wind up turning in to a Three Stooges style argument. Similar to many siblings relationships.

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers takes a bonk to the head and amplifies it by giving you the opportunity to push an ally off a ledge. Whether you do this maliciously or not, the opportunity for mischief is now presented to both players.

To bring this notion further, you are given a world full of boxes, apples, balls and more to throw at enemies. It is the only way to kill them. If your ally happens to get in the way however, he will be seeing stars for a few seconds. Immobilized and vulnerable, you have lost a life due to your friend's careless throw.

These two simple mechanics can change a friendship in an afternoon.

I was an only child growing up, so even if my single player games had multiplayer, it was rarely utilized. Chip and Dale was a fun little game that I was able to run through and grow better and better at. However, on those occasions that I did have friends or family over to play with me, it turned in to something different.

Now let me be clear. I wasn't always the instigator.

I was however the first one to figure out you can push people off a ledge. Something that turned in to a Pandora's Box of creative mischief between the two of us.

At times it could be attributed to the boredom of playing 5 or so levels nicely together. Sometimes you just wanted to throw them off a bridge. If they were slowing you down, why not just pick the other person up and run through the rest of the level carrying them. There is nothing really stopping you from doing that.

Well except when the other person hits you with an apple. That stops you pretty quick.

It never helped that each stage would end with a hidden 1up underneath a single box in a group of boxes that you have to compete over. Boxes are then thrown all around the screen, and always at each other. All for the goal of getting that extra life. As kids however, you never really let the competition die when the time ends.

It would always be carried on in to the next level until one of us actually caved in and decided to play the game fairly. Well, until somebody gets inadvertently hit by something. That's when the vicious cycle repeats itself.

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers was a chance to exercise how far we could push one another's buttons before it became too much for us. Sure, as a game in itself, it was a fun experience. It however is a much better show of competition. We could have just saved Gadget and beaten the game the fair way.

I don't think that ever crossed our minds though.

Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version has been
delayed

Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version has been delayed screenshot

Oh, poo.

The downloadable teaser game, which was supposed to launch along with the 3DS eShop on June 6, has been hit by the delay stick with quality concerns cited as the reason for the extra time in the oven. As of now, no new release date has been announced.

I ought to be more bummed, but as I've yet to get my hands on a 3DS, this doesn't affect me a great deal. Sucks for others who were waiting.

In the meantime, development continues onward with another devroom outreach to fans. If you remember from last month, Capcom asked the community to vote on Mega's redesign for the new game. Of the three picks, the two most requested were tweaked even further and reposted for a final round of voting.

As before, I've gotta go with the more human looking design on the right. I just can't stand looking at manties anymore! You have until next Thursday to hit up the site and vote on your favorite. While there, check out Roll's cute new design!
