PAX East 2011 was the largest PAX in history, with over 50,000 attendees. Still, many of you might not know what PAX is, or what it's like to be there. With this video, I did my best to show you.
I hope you enjoy it.

The long rabbit hole of a reportedly Hitman-related alternate reality game has revealed what may be the first look at the next title in the series.
Save and Quit has the long and sordid tale of how we got to this point, but above is your result: a picture of a hand in a glove. Neat.
Speculation as the game being revealed at E3 later this year. If this ARG is legit and going strong, it's likely we'll hear about it before then, with more solid details coming out of Los Angeles this June.

When our readers want something, they let us know about it. I've been hit up on Twitter, Formspring, Facebook and in multiple comments on this fair site. There are angry posts in reviews of other games, as if we've been deliberately ignoring it, but don't worry -- the Dragon Age 2 review is going to appear.
Here's the deal -- the review will be written by Joseph Leray. He did not receive a review copy of the game until launch day, and because he also goes to school (not every writer here earns $100,000,000 an hour), it's been a slow thing. Ideally we'd have loved to have gotten the game sooner so the review would be up by now, but that hasn't happened.
The choice for reviewer was between Joseph and myself. Since Leray actually really likes the series and I can barely muster the energy to care after the last review, our choice was clear. Leray is playing it whenever he can, seems to be digging it, and will have the review as soon as logistically possible.
It's cool that our audience cares that much about what we have to say about games, I must add. Rest assured though, we've not forgotten the game, and the review will come.

THQ's downloadable shooter, Red Faction: Battlegrounds is slated for an April 5 release. This according to a PlayStation Network news letter that has been hitting inboxes this week.
The Juice Games-developed top-down twin-stick shooter will run you $10 if you're just a normal. But if you're a super-special PlayStation Plus subscriber, I have good news: it'll be free! THQ will get you on the backend, though -- its already planning downloadable content for the downoadable title.
Battlegrounds is also slated to hit Xbox Live Arcade, but there's no word yet on when we can expect that.

There's no doubt that Angry Birds has become a big deal -- just look at how many "ha ha we know pop culture" pundits on TV mention the game for a cheap laugh. According to mobile developer Sourcebits, the game is big enough to be viewed as the Super Mario of a new generation.
"If you look at the market cap for easy-to-play casual games vs. the market cap for epic first person shooter type games, you’ll quickly understand the importance of Angry Birds," said sales VP Dan Gonzalez. "The hardcore gamer, while fairly large in a historical context, is completely dwarfed by the number of casual gamers adopting smart phones and tablets."
The other VP of sales, Brian Meehan, added: "The world is changing and fast. Angry Birds is the world’s new Mario Bros. My kids will never own a DS or PSP. They have everything via smart phones and tablets. When I travel, I love to walk from the back of the plane to the front and see what people are doing on their devices. Not surprisingly, it’s mostly games. I particularly see a lot of Angry Birds on iPhones and iPads. Not just one or two, but ten to 15."
Mobile gaming is definitely a huge part of our culture, and one that Destructoid has made great pains to include in our coverage. I do wish some of these mobile devs wouldn't sound so superior about it, though. Talk of mobile gaming from these people always has to be in the context of how flailing and pointless "traditional" gaming has become, with seems a overly combative. I just don't know why everything has to be successful at the expense of everything else.
