Mahjongg Dimensions Deluxe Review

Mahjong solitaire has always been a terrific game, but if I were to sum up the experience in one word it would be "flat." Tiles are flat. The playing field is flat. Everything is just... well, flat. Mahjongg Dimensions Deluxe breaks from this flatness by offering an experience with some depth. Quite literally, in fact. You see, Mahjongg Dimensions Deluxe isn?t like any mahjong experience you?ve ever encountered. It takes the classic formula of mahjong and brings it into the third dimension.

EventsHubs caught wind of Capcom's new listing for the collector's edition of Super Street Fighter IV on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. "Dojo edition" will run for $79.99 and will include the game and all these goodies:

  • Super Street Fighter IV "Dojo Edition" gym bag.
  • Dudley t-shirt featuring Dudley tossing his rose.
  • 24 oz aluminum water bottle featuring Ibuki with carabiner.
  • "Dojo Edition" head band.
  • 1 GB USB drive featuring Juri and contains character art, wallpapers, comics and more.

You can place your pre-order right now over on Capcom's official store. The bonus items are all pretty neat, but I don't see myself dropping the extra $40 for these items personally. How about you?

Sega's upcoming for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Apple iPhone is continuing on track for a summer release, and as the seasons change, the company is giving out additional information about the blue blur's next adventure. New screenshots of the first zone, Splash Hill Zone, are available at the game's official website today, as is a sample of the zone's musical theme. Take a listen. It sounds sufficiently synthy! Developer Spotlight: Platinum Games

Platinum Games? history is as odd as their games, as anyone who?s played either MadWorld or Bayonetta can attest.  Mostly composed of talent from Clover Studios following their dissolution in 2007, Platinum has gained a reputation of releasing quality, inventive games ? such as the recent Infinite Space ? in an era when emphasis is [...]

Official: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is headed to
consoles

Official: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is headed to consoles screenshot

Arc System Works might think it's cool to release Guilty Gear: Continuum Shift -- the sequel to last year's Calamity Trigger  -- in Japanese arcades, but we gaijin don't have that luxury anymore. In case Arc didn't notice, those went extinct about ten years ago.

Weekly Famitsu broke a story about a Continuum Shift console port months ago, but today's press release confirms a North American version. The game hits Japanese shelves in July, but mum's the word on the gaijin version.

Continuum Shift introduces three new characters -- Hazama, a street performer; Tsubaki, a knight; and Mu-12, who I don't know anything about -- and a handful of new levels as well as four new modes: Tutorial, Beginner, Challenge, and Legion.

Most of the modes seem pretty straightforward, but I have to admit that Legion mode, first introduced in the PlayStion Portable version of Calamity Trigger, comes right out of left field: "Defeat the enemy armies positioned at various locations on the map. The ultimate goal is to color the entire map with your color by defeating all the enemy hubs. Recruit enemy soldiers by defeating them!"

As if that explains anything.

I might be showing my ignorance here, but three new characters for a brand new sequel doesn't sound that compelling, especially since Super Street Fighter IV adds ten at a $40 price tag. But, hell, I'm just excited that Aksys, who's publishing the game, has even found a market for non-Capcom fighters in the West. I hope Continuum Shift doesn't cause brain rot, though.

Hit the gallery for character art and screenshots, and tell me what you think.
