Activions tribute to St. Patricks Day lets you

NEWS - Apparently everyone got into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, including Activision. Activison sports their green colors through offering new Flogging Molly tracks to Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero.

The tracks include ‘Requiem For A Dying Song,” “The Seven Deadly Sins” and “(No More) Paddy’s Lament.” Flogging Molly themselves are also in high spirits, given that they’ll be playing against the public in the next Game with Game competition. Gold members on Xbox Live should send a friend request to their gamertags (below) by 6:30pm ET on March 23rd.

Bad Company 2 sells well, very very well

NEWS - It looks like people are digging Battlefield:Bad Company 2 as EA has reported that they've sold over 2.3 Million copies of the game since it was released earlier this month. The game had some issues at launch but the game seems past those now and the few quirks the game had were rectified by the patch that was released this week.

Marissa is working on her review of the 360 version of the game but I can tell you from the 12+ hours I've logged with the game that it's the best shooter on the market right now. I haven't finished the single player campaign because I've been too busy trying to level up my character in the multiplayer portion of the game.

I never got into the multiplayer portion of Modern Warfare 2 but the game seems to be devoid of the asshats, cheaters, and general douchebaggery that plagues Infinity Ward's game. Sure there are a few too many snipers on some levels but most people seem to be playing the game the right way and not trying to find new ways to be annoying.

Design a Dead Space 2 kill

NEWS - Yet another video game contest calls on gamers to join in on the development fun. This particular instance involves Visceral’s upcoming sequel to Dead Space.

The competition entails creating a death scenario in which Isaac – the main character – dismembers a Necromorph. If you remember the suspense-ridden original, you’ll have to keep that tone in mind when putting those creative skills to the test. The winner of the most epic kill sequence will have their move recreated in the game, as well as an NPC modeled after them.

The contest has been open for a week, with a thousand submission entered to date. If you’d like to put your two cents in, you can do so via text, video or still images on their Facebook page. The contest ends on March 26th, 11:59 PST. Finalists will be chosen by the Dead Space 2 developers, and the community will select their favorites from there.

NEWS - Supreme Commander 2 has officially been released today. If you want a greater look into the game before deciding on your purchase to delve into 25 years post the Infinite War, however, you can look at the RTS quality of the game in the video below. The video shows the 360 controller in action alongside the gameplay video so that you can get a virtual feel of the game.

You?ve got women willing to fight wars and make history and then you?ve got those who consider themselves to be saints. John Marston meets many women in his travels in a time where men made history and women did too.

It?s interesting to see Rockstar?s perception of women in the Wild West. Many would have jumped to the conclusion of all women being courtezans in that era. Rockstar has definitely done its research and shown us that there was more to the women of the Wild West than meets the eye.

Yet another set of sweet videogame posters

Yet another set of sweet videogame posters screenshot

If I bought every halfway decent-looking poster I saw on the Internet, my walls would literally be covered with a collage of mismatched art -- it'd look like someone vomited pop culture everywhere. As appealing as such an idea sounds, I need to keep my impulses in check.

Although, this set of minimalistic posters by Justin Russo is oh-my-God-good. He's taken the less-is-more approach with his designs, but it works well on a few levels. Each poster depicts the body of a popular videogame character; to the non-gamer, only Mario will be instantly recognizable. Love it!

Anyone else feeling Russo's work, or am I just overreacting as usual?
