This game of one-upmanship between Sony and the PS3 modders is getting seriously heated. Responding to the news that Sony was permabanning modded consoles, a new hack claims to worm into the PSN and allow people to unban themselves.

The hack can also be used to ban another console, although they'd need access to that console's ID, which would have to be obtained from a refurb warehouse/secondhand seller or willingly given up by an idiot.

The mod scene is justifying its actions by calling Sony bullies and criticizing its strong-arm tactics. Sony, of course, is sticking by its EULA and claiming to protect its interests.

Whichever side you find righteous, there is no denying that this war is going to get even more bitter -- and likely more idiotic -- before it's all said and done.

After a sizable period of teases, the veil has been lifted on Grimoire Assembly Forge's Dudebro -- My Sh*t Is F*cked Up So I Got to Shoot/Slice You II: It’s Straight-Up Dawg Time. (Why yes, that is the real title.)

When word first spread that a bunch of NeoGAF users were getting together to build this labor-of-love project, it wasn't that I doubted the game would pan out; rather, I was more worried about how long it'd ultimately take. Consider one of the first major public milestones, in-game 'shots, now out of the way.

Loving the sprite design so far, as well as the fusion of 2D and 3D in general. The style is a nice fit for this type of game. Keep at it.

Yikes. Me-too products -- we're drowning in them. Go to an electronics store here in Tokyo and the first floor is flooded with tablet devices. Of course, no one cares about them. It looks like an ocean of black glass smudged with fingerprints. I suppose the market and demand is growing, but like with the portable music player market, I think Apple has the biggest ship in the sea.

Sony wants to set sail on these seas. The rumor is that they're working on an iPad rival. Sources tell Engadget that it goes by the name of S1, and it's looking like a 9.4" Android tablet. The S1 is said to be able to run Android 3.0, and will have support for PlayStation integration, which means you'll be able to get down with PSOne games with this tablet.

The rumor is detailed enough to even give a price and date. According to GI, the device will cost $599 and will be released in September. It will feature Nvidia's TEGRA 2 processor and will have a 1200x800 pixel screen. Apparently there's some protrusion that lets you hold the tablet like a magazine on the device's back.

Wei has always been my kingdom of choice. I don't think China ever had such a high concentration of hard bastards in one place before or since. Plus they have the coolest Dynasty Warriors characters.

This new trailer for the Wei Kingdom reveals gameplay for Xiahou Dun, Jia Xu, Zhang Liao, Dian Wei, Cai Wenji, Zhen Ji, Cao Pi and my personal favorite, Zhang He. They all look pretty damn incredible.

Screw the haters, Dynasty Warriors 7 is going to be utterly amazing. Biggest cultural event since Blood Sport.

Who could have predicted that Dead Island's return would be so well received? The trailer made such a huge impression that even Twitter had it as a trending topic -- and it wasn't even "promoted" or anything! Clearly, people have a thing for zombie children flying through windows in reverse.

Now, we begin the process of lowering our expectations to be slightly more realistic; hope it's not too painful. Community member Skribble has been keeping an eye on Dead Island since the beginning, it sounds like, and he dug up an old demo reel for the game's damage system.

Character models are made up of multiple layers just begging to be torn to shreds, as shown above. I've always wondered how far technology will push gore in future games -- careful what you wish for.
