We tend not to post much about box art these days, but I'm willing to make an exception for a special case like Red Faction: Armageddon. Besides, it's been awfully quiet on the Red Faction front lately.
Compared to the average current-gen game sitting on my shelf, this is a step up. There seems to be an industry-wide adoration with focusing on the main character, and subtlety is not what we're known for. Armageddon does still fall into the norm here, but at least the guy's design was altered.
I've attached the box art for Red Faction: Guerrilla as well. Step up, or step down?

A little while back, I posted some official art from Capcom depicting Mega Man's female counterpart Roll lying around with a bunch of other versions of the character in a semi-cuddly, maybe-groping manner. The art was sold in Japan on either a mug or a jigsaw puzzle. At the time, I thought the art was either creepy or cute, depending on how you looked at it.
I wonder what all of you think of the art now that Roll has been swapped out for the many forms of Mega Man we've seen over the years. Now that you've got a male character looking all prone and doe eyed, is this artwork more or less creepy, or more or less cute?

A number of you are already sold on the new Mortal Kombat, perhaps even multiple times over by now. For anyone still managing to hold out, I present to you this footage entitled (by me, not NetherRealm) "Noob Saibot wrecks your sh*t."
And really, that's all that needs to be said. The zoom-in on internal damage continues to be a gruesome delight, as does the charming "hanging corpses" motif. Seriously, who is the interior designer, and what's his hourly rate?

Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights is a puzzle-adventure game set in 19th century Paris. It follows an archaeologist named Jean-Pierre Lautrec, a crazy guy that searches for "living treasures" in underground Paris.
Konami says that you'll use the 3D abilities of the 3DS to help solve key puzles to guide Lautrec and his cute assistant, Sophie, to the treasure they're searching for. In puzzles you'll be able to scrutinize objects from all directions, or zoom in to highlight scenery to match your map. The cutscenes will also be shown in 3D.
Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights is scheduled to be released for Nintendo 3DS in Summer 2011. Right now there's some screenshots at the game's official webpage for you to check out.
It's no Layton, but I think this game looks pretty good. Cute art style and puzzle-based adventuring is always a good thing.

Ahead of Beyond Good & Evil HD's Xbox Live Arcade release, which is set to roll out on March 2, Ubisoft has put out a number of items for your Xbox 360 Avatar to interact with and possibly even wear. You best strap in, because it's about to get real.
The collection includes shirts, Jade's outfit, a hovercraft toy, an Alpha Section "pet" (Uh ... sure, why not?), and a full-on Pey'j costume, among other things. Creepy and awesome! But mostly awesome. I'm still of the strict "Don't buy Avatar gear" mindset -- I wouldn't fault anyone for buying this stuff, though.
