Fugazo is gearing up to launch Film Fatale: Lights, Camera, Madness, a hidden object game that explores the world of 1940s and 50s cinema and tells the story of one particularly eccentric (some would say insane) director, and a movie starlet who goes missing.

Some screenshots have appeared on the homepage of Cateia Games that give us a sneak peek at a new hidden object adventure, Where Angels Cry, which could be coming out for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android as soon as this March.

This post is already way too much about me and way too little about the story, so how about we take that narcissism as far as we can and see what happens? I'm sad. I can't get keyboard-controlled Flash games to work on my PC right now. After 10-20 seconds, the controls just stop working. That means I can't play Rokko Chan or Abobo's Big Adventure (being played right now on out live stream) for more than a few seconds past their title screens. If you can help me fix that, let me know.
In the meantime, I've been playing a hell of a lot of Ultimate Flirt Off! and the game that I'm supposed to be writing about right now -- Katawa Crash. It's a simple "aim and shoot" affair that works more like a random event generator and less like a interactive "game", but it's still endlessly fun.
It all starts when you launch a sad man into the air. From there, the man hits various anime, manga, and videogame characters (including a few I actually recognize, like Shinji's Dad from Evangelion and Chie from Persona 4). Depending on what angle, speed, height that he hits them at, various things may happen. Sometimes it's Tecmo Bowl things. Sometimes it's Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 things. Other times, it's barely anything at all. Regardless of what happens, this game constantly has me on the edge of my seat. It's basically what I wanted the TtWaV music video to be, but in Flash game form.
Check it out for yourself. I also threw some videos of the game's more amazing events after the jump if you're curious. Thanks Mario2Man!

NEWS - Some days it's all about the quality, not the quantity. Today was one of those days where everything went my way, and while I didn't spend much time on the floor, what I got was uber high quality. We'll have at least one Justin Beiber autograph available as a giveaway prize shortly, and one of the USB fridges will be given away tomorrow. And while this was my last day collecting items on the show floor, we have so much coming in after the show that we'll just have tons of giveaways in the next few weeks. CES 2012 was a phenomenal year for swag and I'm definitely looking forward to 2013.

NEWS - Normally, I'm fighting for every minute I can spend on the show floor each year, but with the economy as it is, and the cost to set up a booth rising year after year, some of the best stuff wasn't even at the convention hall this year. I spent most of my day in suites along the strip, with one special stop along the way.

Code of Princess is easy to overlook. Other than the fact that it features some excellent design work by 999/Street Fighter artist Kinu Nishimura, nothing about the game really stands out. It would be easy to dismiss it as just another 3DS beat'em up about nearly nude women breaking things.
This trailer has me hoping that the game may be something more, and so far, the game's cast doesn't disappoint. There is a key-tar playing jester and a self-worshiping pharaoh cat. There's also pant-less purple zombie woman with a huge scar across her face and a scarf that says "<3 MILKY <3", and a man named Mr T. who has a lion's head where his chest ought to go. I approve.
It also looks like there is some multiplayer, but it's not clear what kind of multiplayer it is. If it's online multiplayer, then the game actually might have a chance at being a hit. People tend to forget that Castle Crashers sold like a billion digital "copies" in its first year. A good multiplayer online beat 'em up can churn up a lot of cheddar. I hope that its publishers keep that in mind if and when the game comes Stateside.

Gaijin Games put together a video for their fans that works to both let them feel what it's like to hang out with the guys (and gals) at the studio's Holiday party, while simultaneously answering a multitude of questions regarding their upcoming game Bit.Trip presents: Runner 2. Sharp-eyed and eared Bit.Trip fans will also take the opportunity to get an early look and listen to Runner 2, as the game is being played in the background during a good portion of the video. Matt Harwood is rocking hard here, arguably even harder than he did on the TtWaV album. That is much cause for excitement.
There are also a lot of hard facts to be gleaned over the course of the video, including a boatload of confirmations. CommandGirl Video and Retro Commander Video have both been confirmed as playable characters, in-level checkpoints have been confirmed for difficulties for easy and normal difficulties, the game's programming language has been confirmed to be Cobalt74, and much more CONFIRMED.
There is even a hint that Runner 2 may come to the Wii U and the PC. If I were the one calling the shots at Gaijin, that's not something I'd want to confirm yet, as it might eat into the all important initial sales (and resulting word of mouth hype) of the game when it first hits on XBLA/PSN later this year. Cannibalism is bad, especially when you're eating your own leg.
