Cave Story developer's new game is codenamed
'Rockfish'

Cave Story developer's new game is codenamed 'Rockfish' screenshot

It's been a long time since Pixel (Daisuke Amaya) has put out a new game. He completed Cave Story in 2004, worked on the WiiWare and DSiWare ports of the game that were released last year, and put out a microgame for Warioware D.I.Y., but we haven't seen anything in the way of totally new, stand alone projects.

Looks like that's about to change. Jeremy Parish from 1UP got to demo Pixel's new game mid-interview with the game design genius, and it sounds pretty awesome. The game is codenamed Rockfish, and it's for iOS platforms. Like Ikachan (one of Pixel's older games), Rockfish is a simple game with sprite-based graphics, all about navigating through the oceans. However, "simple" doesn't always mean "easy". The first area is based of the opening area in Cave Story, but underwater, and filled with spikes. Poor Jeremy Parish couldn't last more than 30 seconds.

Unlike Ikachan, which put you in control of a squid, Rockfish puts you in control of a kasago (seen above). It will be interesting to see how the two characters differ, not to mention how the game looks and plays. I'll be begging Nicalis for more information on Rockfish as soon as the sun rises tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Sundays with Sagat: What is this I don't even

Sundays with Sagat: What is this I don't even screenshot

Sometimes stuff happens at Sagat's house. It's my prerogative to show you this stuff. That's the way that I want to live.

I hope you find some redeeming value in this thing. At the very least, I bet it will make you feel better about yourself in relative sense.

Fan-Made 80s Teen Comedy 'Legend of Zelda'
Trailer is Rad

Fan-Made 80s Teen Comedy 'Legend of Zelda' Trailer is Rad screenshot

Like a a lot of people, I have a very special place in my heart-container for The Legend of Zelda series. On top of that, I'm also a sucker for 80s pop-culture. That's probably why I made a teenage girl-ish giggle-squeak when I saw this fan-made trailer for a Legend of Zelda movie as it would've been as a John Hughes-esque teen comedy.

This was put together by the same guys who did The God of War Indie Film trailer and Inglorious Plummers, which are both totally worth checking out if you haven't seen them. The videos might not be comedic genius, but they're definitely worth a smile and an "I see what you did there." And they're better than most real video game movie adaptations.

I'm curious to see what trailer these guys do next. Fingers crossed for a Metal Gear Solid buddy comedy.

MUTANT WARZONE SECRET CODE

Access the super-secret speed setting by hitting F2. This option is so fucking secret that I didn't even know the game included it (it's built into Megazeux)!

You might as well go ahead and set the game to super-fucking-fast because it's the default setting from now on.

Image is an unfinished version of a picture for the OST. I liked this version for some reason, but the finished one is, I think, better. It's the guy from the title screen. The bad guy who isn't in the game yet.

Mutant Warzone OST Album Art Sneak Peak

Another piece done for the upcoming OST! I intended for the main character to be either male or female depending on the player. Duke would be the male version, so here is the female protagonist.
