Sometimes a Stormtrooper costume and a great sample is all you need to get a job at Epic Games.

There's no escaping Steam this week, it seems. Currently, you can grab all of the Borderlands content on the digital distribution service for a cool 75 percent off. That means the Game of the Year edition, complete with all four add-on packs, is a mere $7.50.
It feels like forever ago since I fought the good fight alongside Brad Nicholson. He crawled into the final boss' mouth and killed it the only way he knew how -- by punching the poor thing to death.
Joseph says this deal is redonk, and I concur. Even worth double dipping for console owners.

NEWS - At the Mix 11 conference in Las Vegas, Microsoft released more information on the software development kit (SDK) that will allow people to formally work with the kit on their PC (previous version were non-sanctioned hacks). They have published this page which will contain all the news about the SDK as well as the first information about when the SDK will be available. I'm guessing this will be a plug in for their existing Visual Studio suite and hopefully will work with their free Visual Studio Express tools.
They also showed a very impressive demo of the software using data from the WorldWide Telescope that was pretty impressive and thanks to the folks at Ars Technica you can see below.

NEWS - I've already gushed a bit about Section 8:Prejudice and I'm hoping this launch trailer backs me up a bit. The game isn't out on the Xbox 360 until next week but this video should give you a good taste of what to expect from the game. Also due out next week is my hands on preview of the PC version of the game which should give you even more reasons to own this game.

ZEN Studios has revealed a new table on its way to ZEN Pinball on PlayStation Network. The Sorcerer's Lair puts in your hands the fate of a brother and sister trapped in the citadel of an evil Sorcerer. As you can see in the above trailer there are ramps, bumpers, targets and all the other pinball accoutrement.
The Sorcerer's Lair will be arriving on the PlayStation Store the week of April 25th. I know that once I see the names of my friends on the leaderboards, I'll wind up buying this. That little animated bastard is going down.

From now on, NFL fans will have to wait a bit longer than usual to get their virtual football fix. EA's Madden series traditionally launches in the second week of August, about a month before the NFL season begins. But EA Sports president Peter Moore announced yesterday that Madden NFL 12 will be released on August 30, 2011, which is three weeks after the usual launch window.
Initial speculation on the reasons behind the decision centered on the uncertainty behind the ongoing NFL lockout, as well as the news (first reported by Pastapadre, and as yet unconfirmed by EA) that key members of the Madden team -- including creative director Ian Cummings -- are leaving EA Tiburon, perhaps to join a newly formed social-game studio called Row Sham Bow.
But this doesn't seem like a move that EA made lightly, or like a reaction to current circumstances alone. According to Operation Sports, the release-date change is permanent; all Madden games from this point forward will launch at the end of August. We contacted EA Tiburon for comment, and as PR rep Rob Semsey explained it, "This aligns the release of Madden NFL 12 closer to the start of the NFL regular season each year." (Of course, whether there will even be a 2011 NFL season remains to be seen; September 8th is the tentative kickoff date right now).
Still, this makes sense in the context of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters, which greatly benefited sales-wise by launching just days before The Masters. And it probably doesn't hurt that a later launch gives EA three extra weeks to rake in NCAA Football sales. We'll have to see if EA pushes back the release dates for its other sports titles to release them closer to their respective seasons.

NEWS - If you're a fan of the niche JRPG Disgaea series, it'll probably be hard to pass up the preorder goodies for the upcoming Disgaea 4 for the PS3. Not only does it come in a limited edition box but that box happens to include an artbook and an exclusive figurine of Fuka, one of the game's main characters. Artbooks are pretty standard preorder bonus fare, but action figures? That's something special. Man, I wish Nintendo cared as much about its diehard fans to put action figures in their games.

Here's a cinematic trailer for Risen 2: Dark Waters, and it's quite a slickly produced one. It also features pirates, guns and big scary sea monsters. All in all, it looks like a significant departure from the original Risen, might not be a bad thing.
The first Risen had a lot of heart, but its slow pace and tendency to put overwhelmingly deadly enemies everywhere really held it back. I'm hoping to beat it before this one is ready, but I'm not sure if that'll ever happen.
In any case, Dark Waters is officially on my watch list. There aren't enough pirate-themed roleplayers on the market.
