In the latest “Behind Closed Doors” look at Splinter Cell Conviction, we learn a bit about Sam Fisher’s reason for coming out of hiding. He’s looking for his daughter’s killer, and unfortunately, the bad man is not hiding a bed in the Fisher loft. The search takes the now-grizzled sneaking man to Washington, where some serious stuff goes down and he becomes entangled in some larger Third Echelon thing.
Despite Fisher’s harder edge, he totally pulls a Saved By the Bell move on a chick in the video, slamming his fist into a locker while standing in front of her. Makes you wonder what Fisher has been doing all those years while in hiding. He most certainly hasn't been taking conversational tact classes.

I'm a gamer, always have been. Problem is for a large number of years that's really just consisted of the video variety. That's a huge mistake on my part, to not enjoy the video game's analog brethren... the board game. There?s actually a vibrant and intense board game world out there that?s been pushed to the sidelines by game players such as ourselves for too long. In this column I'll be diving into this world, looking at games that hopefully you'd like to try out for yourself.
A few weeks ago I wrote a column about the abstract board game DVONN, which I said was "harder than checkers but easier than chess." It proved to be a big hit with readers, and led me down the obvious path of taking a look at another of the abstract games in the same series. ZERTZ is an interesting game and hard to nail down to a simple description, though I suppose I could say it's kinda like Chinese Checkers on an ever-shrinking board.
It's an intriguing concept to be sure, but is it fun?

NEWS - One of the more interesting features of Divinity II is that your character has a battle tower which serves as your Fortress of Solitude/HQ between missions. It's here that you can create your own pets, play with spells, and chill out before heading back out to the world. Here's a high level overview in video form of what you can expect when the game ships in early 2010.

NEWS - Now this should make Team Fortress 2 interesting. War is happening on the game and this is how it's going to go down. Valve is going to track kills of demomen against soldiers and vice versa and whoever has the most kills will get a super secret weapon for that class. Right now, there's a call to arms for both the soldier and demoman on Valve's website.
One kind of sucky thing that might come out of this is we'll just see a bunch of servers fill of demos and soldiers or even each team comprising of all of one class but if this experiment works, it might just be pretty fun to partake in it. I'm curious if the secret weapon is class specific in that if one class wins it's going to be a new one that was designed for them or is it a weapon that's designed for both and the class that wins gets it.
