Harmonix not-so-subtly hints at Green Day in Rock
Band

Regardless of your opinion of Green Day’s music, I think it’s safe to say that their songs (especially, say, Dookie-era stuff) would be pretty damn fun to play in Rock Band. Personally, I’m a huge fan, and the growing chatter regarding their appearance in the game (or perhaps even a standalone Green Day title) has now reached fever pitch.

Yesterday, fresh off of their coming-out party at E3, Harmonix brought out The Beatles: Rock Band at MTV HQ in Times Square, New York. MTV employees were able to sing, harmonize, and play along with such classics as “Day Tripper” and “I Saw Her Standing There.” During the demo, MTV Multiplayer’s Russ Frushtick interviewed debonair Harmonix PR man John Drake, and asked specifically about the possibility of Green Day making its way to Rock Band. Hit the jump to find out what happened next!

Note: Due to MTV restrictions, the video is only viewable by users in the United States, so here’s a transcript of the interview for you international residents:

Drake: Yeah, we have -- we have some really great artists that we’re working with on a lot of fronts for Rock Band in the future, and we’re going to be talking more about that coming soon.

Frushtick: So nothing to say about Green Day: Rock Band?

Drake: No, but Green Day’s really, really, great! Wouldn’t you love to see Green Day in Rock Band?

Frushtick: I would love to see--

Drake: I would also love to see Green Day in Rock Band! Hopefully we’ll have some official news soon.

Oh, John, you sly dog, you. Here’s hoping that the phrase “Green Day in Rock Band” merely means Green Day DLC (or even something in the vein of AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack) and not a full game, because, well, let’s leave the franchise whoring to Activision, shall we?

For more John Drake goodness (he’s not a “pudgeasaurus,” kids -- how dare you!), check out Nick Chester’s behind-the-scenes video interview with him from E3. And if you want to read more about The Beatles: Rock Band, I’ll have some impressions coming up soon.

Max Payne 3

Alright, you have my attention now. I have faith in Rockstar delivering a sequel of the highest calibre, but Remedy’s style was always a tough act to follow up on. Maybe it’s now been long enough to kickstart the series again.

PS3 Prototype install bug has you doing some
silly voodoo

PS3 Prototype install bug has you doing some silly voodoo screenshot

It seems that the PS3 version of Prototype doesn't always want to install on your system correctly. According to Joystiq, your PS3 may tell you that you don't have enough space for the install. The workaround, provided by Activision support, has you changing the amount of disk space by 700MB in whatever way you can. You can install games, demos, and other downloads. Apparently this gets things moving.

Activision on the matter: "We take this issue very seriously and are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

I asked the Destructoid crew what version of Prototype they were playing for some insight. Unfortunately, they are all playing the Xbox 360 version. I guess that could be considered a fix too, though. Joystiq jokes that you could be installing or demoing inFamous instead, but the word here at the Destructoid offices is that our reviewers are leaning more toward Prototype. Just not on the PS3, though.
