By pre-ordering Just Cause 2 at Amazon, GameStop, Target, or Wal-Mart -- The Man would rather I say "participating retails," but screw him -- you can get a whole mess of goodies, including a hovercraft. A hovercraft!

Avalanche Studios has got the full list with pictures and descriptions right here. For the lazy (more power to you), the five items are Rico’s Signature Gun, Bull’s Eye Assault Rifle, the Chevalier Classic, a Chaos Parachute, and the Agency Hovercraft.

These are all usable in-game, and will be available for download on launch, which means your pre-order will net you a download key, most likely. Note: this fun stuff is for North America only. As far as I can tell, pre-order bonuses for other regions haven't been divulged yet.

Zipper Interactive are good people. Not because their PS3 exclusive Massive Action Game is any good (I don't know if it is or isn't yet), but because they chose a great slow news day to post the box art for the aforementioned game. Desperate bloggers such as myself are now forever in Zipper's debt.

So here it is, the official box art for MAG. To help pad out the article even more, Zipper has also shared some interesting statistics from the game's beta phase. If you're into this huge first-person-shooter, check out the data:

More than 42,000 matches were played over the course of the full public beta (August 17 – December 5).
During October’s beta period alone nearly 534,000+ miles were traveled in-game by MAG players each week.
During the final month of the Beta 4 and 4.5 periods (November 9 – December 5):
Of the more than 65,000 players that logged on, 17,000 of them qualified for Squad Leader, 3500 people qualified for Platoon Leader, 1100 folks made it all the way to OIC, and 206 dedicated warriors made it all the way to the level 60 experience cap.
Nearly 18 million kills were made and an excess of 700,000 million shots were fired.
The Top 3 most played maps all belonged to the Sabotage mode. They were, in order, Syr Darya Uplink, Darien Network, and Copper Hills Relay.

Those are lot of numbers and things! I've heard mixed reactions concerning the MAG beta (I had a key and could not be bothered to spend ten thousand years downloading it) but despite the concerns I've seen, I still remain quite hopeful that it will be a cool shooter. Ever since Killzone 2 basically fell apart, I've been looking for a good PS3 shooter to get into. We'll have to wait and find out if MAG is that shooter.
