Ever since PopCap announced that Plants vs. Zombies was coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch, gamers have patiently waited to tackle the zombie invasion when it came to their mobile device of choice. Until now though, nobody knew when that invasion would hit. Thanks to a new trailer from PopCap Games, we can officially confirm that iPhone fanatics should be able to get their hands on Plants vs. Zombies next Monday, February 15.

Unannounced EA 'fighting title' coming in early 2011 screenshot

Within Monday's financial earnings report from Electronic Arts was a list of games that the publisher is planning to ship in the remainder of its 2011 fiscal year, which runs through March 31, 2011. Buried in that list was a "Fighting Title TBA," set for release on consoles in the fourth quarter of said fiscal year. We're not sure what that game could be, but here's a clue: it's listed under the EA Sports label.

By then, EA Sports MMA will have released in the prior quarter (fall 2010), so this probably doesn't have anything to do with that. Brad Nicholson wonders if it's going to be a revival of 2008's FaceBreaker (we both hope that that's not what it is). If I had to put money on it, I'd guess that the game in question is Fight Night Round 5, or some kind of Fight Night spin-off -- a Q1 2011 launch would be roughly a year and a half after the release of last summer's Fight Night Round 4.

Let's brainstorm, gang. What do you guys think this fighting game is?

Could Level-5 be developing a new Dragon Quest for Wii?

During a recent prospective employees event, Level-5 president Akihiro Hino revealed the company is currently developing a new previously unannounced title for Wii.

Dragon Quest Wii

Level-5 has a long history with developing the Dragon Quest franchise, previously releasing Dragon Quest VIII and IX. Speculation now says there is a good chance the company could be continuing the franchise, creating a new Dragon Quest just for Wii.

Hino also announced the company is also working on a previously announced PS3 title.

Details on just what title Level-5 plans to bring to Wii are said to be revealed with an official announcement soon.
