Comparing stuff: Original GoW games vs. GoW Collection screenshot

For those of you, like myself, who have never played any of the God of War games (waits for shouts of anger to stop) the GoW Collection is a godsend. Here we have both classic games running on the PS3 with supposedly better graphics and a 720p presentation at 60fps. I knew this was coming, that's why I didn't play them before. But how can we be sure if the graphics are really that much better unless we compare them? There's just no way.

Thank goodness for the guys at Bitmob, who evidently have a lot of time on their hands as they spent 16 hours collecting 14,000 screens in order to deliver a side by side comparison of the original games and the new collection. What was the final outcome? The new one is better looking than the old one! Shocking, I know. It's pretty clear that the texture upping and improvement to 720p has greatly improved the look of the game. For me, picking this up after I get a PS3 for the holidays (gifts are always gladly accepted) is a no brainer, but what about all of you who have already played through the games? Is the graphical reboot enough to make you purchase them again?

You know who likes Borderlands? Clifford Bleszinski! The Epic Games designer has spoken incredibly highly of Gearbox Software's "roleplaying shooter," going so far as to compare it with the classic Blizzard RPG Diablo.

"Borderlands, I adore you," Tweets the handsome Gears of War creator. "You’re Diablo for a generation raised on first person shooters. I want a Claptrap."

I've spent the past two weeks playing Borderlands whenever I can get a spare minute, and I must say that I have loved almost every second of it after the a rather dull start. Once the game kicks into high gear, it becomes an addictive loot fest and the power that players feel when they start customizing their characters is incredibly rewarding. I feel inclined to agree with Cliffy in part. This is very much the Diablo of first-person-shooters.

Oh, and I also want a Claptrap.

Jack Ryan, the silent protagonist of the original BioShock, could be seen as some sort of messianic figure ten years after his adventure in Rapture, according to creative director Jordan Thomas. The player's actions in BioShock certainly made Jack a powerful figure that changed Rapture's history forever, and it seems his deeds won't be forgotten.

"His story, for the purposes of BioShock 2, is over, in terms of his world driving narrative," Thomas tells MTV. "That said, the things that he did are being fiercely debated by the splicers, because we wanted to support any of the choices the player could have made in the first game. It’s become kind of a religious question; what he did at the end of BioShock 1."

Now that sounds intensely interesting. I love a good story about how religion is split into pieces by the folly of human interpretation (yes, I'm a Life of Brian fan), and if that's the direction they're going with BioShock 2, I'm all for it. It's also worth noting that when Destructoid previewed BioShock 2, our very own Hamza Aziz noticed a room with two paintings of Jack's hands on the wall (evidenced by Jack's signature wrist tattoo). Candles were surrounding the paintings and it looked almost like a shrine.

Yeah, I like the sound of this.

Nintendo Says No Wii HD And New Super Mario Bros
Wii Will Outsell Modern Warfare 2

New Super Mario Bros Wii Screenshot Nintendo's North American President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime has squashed the rumors of an impending Wii HD release in the new GTTV episode. He also states that the New Super Mario Bros. Wii will outsell Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

In the newest episode of GTTV, Reggie speaks about Nintendo's future and makes some pretty bold statements about the New Super Mario Bros. Wii sales potential. There have been many rumors about a new version of the Wii with HD capabilities being released. Most people believed this was inevitable for Nintendo to keep up with the other consoles but Reggie has flat out stated there is no Wii HD. This is definitely disappointing for anybody that hoped the rumors were true. Reggie doesn't leave much more for debate when he says "I don’t know how forcefully we can say that there is no Wii HD". This could also be a clever ruse to try and distract us until they actually announce it. Then again they could actually be okay with just having a non-HD console that has outsold everybody else.

In the same episode, Reggie makes a pretty bold statement about the New Super Mario Bros. Wii game. Reggie threw down the gauntlet and said that it will "outsell Modern Warfare 2 on a single platform". That is a huge statement since many people have already crowned Modern Warfare 2 as the biggest launch ever. The good thing about the statement is that we don't have to wait for very long to see if he is right.

The New Super Mario Bros. Wii is going to be released on November 15th and Modern Warfare 2 drops on November 10th. Let the battle begin.
