Naughty Dog not interested in Uncharted motion
control

Naughty Dog not interested in Uncharted motion control screenshot

Developers might be shanking their own grandmothers right now for a chance to hop aboard the motion control gravy train, but Uncharted developer Naughty Dog isn't so keen, at least for its flagship franchise. If you were hoping to bring a little waggle into Nathan Drake's life, you'll be waiting for quite some time.

"We really don’t have any interest in using the motion control to do a third-person action game," says Naughty Dog boss Evan Wells. "If we were going to make a motion controller game, we’d want to tackle it from the bottom up and make sure that we were designing the game around the motion control, the way the best Wii games are designed.

"I’m not a Wii hater at all, in fact, it’s probably one of my most played consoles in the house. I have a 3-year-old son which might account for some of that, but Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are some of the best experiences of this generation, honestly ...  I think the PlayStation audience is totally for it. In fact, I bet you there are lot of closet Wii owners in the PlayStation community."

As a member of the PlayStation audience, I can't say I'm personally up for having Wii games on my PS3, but what about you? Looking forward to Carnival Games HD?

CES 2010: Microsoft CES press conference live
blog

CES 2010: Microsoft CES press conference live blog screenshot

Here's my experience on these sorts of things. You go to an event. There's all this buzz. Rumors of something going to be announced or launched. Then you go. You liveblog. You bust ass to get there and get a good seat. Then nothing happens. I've seen it a million times. E3, GDC, CES, you name it.

I fell for it again. Conrad and I are here in the Hilton Casino ballrooms, waiting for Mircosoft to tell us something that they're probably not going to. But, just in case, we're liveblogging it. And, if you don't wan to take our word for it, there's a link below that will take you to a live stream of the conference. Maybe Balmer will do some crazy sh*t again.

[Update 2: It's happening.]

[Update: The conference is a bit delayed; Microsoft is experiencing some issues. The live stream is up, though, for those of you who really like elevator music.]

Race as Miis in Sonic & All-Star Racing

Race as Miis in Sonic & All-Star Racing screenshot

The Xbox 360 version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing is getting Banjo and Kazooie as bonus characters. So what's the Wii version getting? You! Well, your Miis to be more exact. You'll be able to race as any of your Miis and Miis will have a special All Star moves as well.

Now all that's left is the PlayStation 3 version. There's Avatar and Mii support, but what about Home avatars? Also, while reading up on this game, I found out that Sega was considering having Segata Sanshiro as a playable character riding a Sega Saturn. It probably won't make the final cut, but if it does make it in, then it's automatically agreed upon that he would be the best racing character ever.
