There's really no need to set up this video. The Modern War Gear Solid shorts are some of the greatest things ever. The first two episodes were ace. The viral video spoofs were brilliant. The upcoming third episode is sure to be the cat's pajamas. Then there is this one. Seriously, these guys could take a crap on camera and I'd be in stitches.
Watch.

Ummmm... F*CK YES!
Someone over at NeoGAF posted an image of a banner at a GameStop convention touting a new Earth Defense Force game coming out in 2011. Strangely there was nothing else except the banner at the conference and no consoles were listed on it, so we're still running this one under the rumor header.
However, there is still more proof out there that this is real. Not only do we have a fancy place holder site for the game at edfia.com, which gives the sequel the name Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon (greatest name ever), but there's also this story over at Cheap Ass Gamer showing a tweet about the game being listed for release by a distributor. We've gotten in touch with D3 to see if we can get confirmation.
Seriously, if this is true it means that both Duke Nukem Forever and a new Earth Defense Force game have been revealed within two days of each other. How is the earth still in one piece?

Duke Nukem Forever is not only still being developed; it is actually playable at PAX Prime right now.
Duke Nukem Forever, the game that has become synonymous with vaporware, is actually still going to be released. Originally announced back in 1997, Duke Nukem Forever was being worked on up until last year when 3D Realms laid off most of its staff. They were then sued by their publisher, Take-Two Interactive. At that point, everybody figured the game was finally dead until PAX goers were surprised with a playable demo. It is now being developed by Gearbox Software and is on track for a 2011 release date. Apparently the rumors of the development being handed off to Gearbox were true. I was really disappointed when the game was rumored to be canceled and it will be great to finally play the long awaited sequel.
Duke Nukem Forever is going to be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the PC sometime in 2011.

Jim Sterling is always on the move. At different times throughout the day, I spotted him signing autographs, harassing strangers on the phone at the request of fans, and of course, playing videogames. I was lucky enough to bump into him as we were both heading out of the PAX convention center. He obliged my request for assistance in wrapping up the day's events. For that, I am grateful.
Besides giving you an overview of some of the more notable games we played today, this video shows some of the size and scale of PAX as a whole. It also serves a nice snapshot of some of the special folks that you might run into while perusing the show. They aren't like people that you'll meet anywhere else, gaming event or otherwise.
I think Jim said it best when he remarked that "E3 is like a pageant, and PAX is like a circus. At E3, they are all following the same script. At PAX, there is no script, and everyone is completely insane."
OK, I might have made up some of that up, but I'm pretty sure he said most of the rest.

[Update] Video up. Thank God.
Did you come to Dtoid LIVE at PAX 2010? It was a roaring success. Pants came off, sandwiches are made, and a dog dressed like Lady Gaga. It was pretty tight. This was also the first time that Commander Video met Jim Sterling. We'll show that to you as soon as possible. On top of that, we've got an exclusive look at Bit.Trip FATE as played by Destructoid editors past and present, including Aaron Linde, Papa Burch, Chad Concelmo, Anthony Burch, Ashley Davis, and yours truly.
In the meantime, chew on these screens of Bit.Trip FATE. It's the fifth game in the Bit.Trip series, and it's by far the most visually stunning, emotionally evocative, and action-packed game in the series. We couldn't put it down last night. I can't wait for you guys to play it. The video is uploading as we speak. I'll get that to you ASAP.
Stay tuned for more Bit.Trip exclusives throughout the weekend.

If you're a major city and you find out that James Bond is coming for a visit it's probably good idea to take out some insurance on things blowing up and plenty of people dying. Wherever the dashing spy goes stuff gets destroyed, and that is no different when Bond goes to Istanbul in the upcoming PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game Blood Stone.
As you can see in the video above, Bond is going to be doing some pretty destructive stuff in Istanbul that not only includes explosions, but also driving fast, shooting things and destroying stuff in other ways. Sad for the city of Istanbul, but awesome for us.
Is anyone else even more excited than usual to hop behind the wheel of the Aston Martin thanks to Bizarre Creations being in charge of this one?
