Mickey wakes up in Wasteland (Disney's Epic
Mickey trailer part 2)

by: Ben Berry
NEWS - It's not often you get to be Mickey Mouse, but in Disney Epic Mickey it looks like you'll get to spend some time in the shoes that built the House of Mouse. In this second part of the trailer, Mickey comes out of his hangover to realize he can't remember the last 24 hours. Oops, I mean he wakes up in Wasteland as a prisoner of The Mad Doctor. It looks like an interesting game. Maybe not one I'd pick up for me, but the wife might be into it.

Cladun: This is an RPG! gets a release date for
PSN

by: Ben Berry
NEWS - So, there's this game called Cladun: This is an RPG! coming to PSN on 9/21. Here's whats sad: I could see this as the kind of game that could bring me around to buying a PS3. I don't care about the graphics, or even the integrated blu-ray. It's the fact that a fun game like this that isn't available on 360 or Wii, and it's one of those games that looks like it has a lot going for it.

Kane and Lynch 2 extends its Dog Days with DLC

by: Sean Colleli
NEWS - I wasn't too thrilled with the single player in Kane and Lynch 2, but I thought the multiplayer had some great ideas. One of the main issues with the multiplayer in Dog Days was the small map selection, but now IO Interactive is remedying that with some DLC. The Doggie Bag Pack gives you three new maps--Dockyard, High Rise and the previously preorder-only Radio Tower--as well as five new weapons. You can also pick up the Alliance Weapons Pack for even more guns, and the Multiplayer Mask Pack to keep your identity secret in the betrayal-heavy online heists.

I don't think anything short of a rewrite could patch up the story mode, but these three DLC packs go a long way to fleshing out the multiplayer--it needed new maps and more guns to let the innovative game modes really breath, and that's just what you're getting here. Check the press release for pricing for each console.

DeathSpank can stop communism...

by: Ben Berry
NEWS -

Chuck has had some really good things to say about DeathSpank and while I haven't played it yet, it sounds fun. Plus, I love it when game companies are confident enough in their games to get developers involved in funny marketing concepts. I'll let this video speak for itself.

PAX 10: The Mega Man Universe mystery slowly
unravels

PAX 10: The Mega Man Universe mystery slowly unravels screenshot

The boys of The Mega Man Network were able to visit the Capcom booth at PAX and grill the rep for any new details on Mega Man Universe. There was no demo on hand, sadly, but they were able to glean a couple of clues as to what to expect.

As we saw in the new trailers, three different Mega Men are playable, but they aren't merely clones of one another. There are slight control tweaks from one to the next (e.g. Bad Box Art Mega Man can only fire two shots at a time instead of the typical three). The final roster is suggested to be massive, featuring stars from other Capcom titles like Ryu and possibly more Mega Man variations.

Speaking of variations, the slender new Mega Man model with the angry Kirby eyes was designed by Masafumi Kimoto, the designer who worked on Mega Man Legends. I guess I can kinda see the relation -- the slender build and torso lines remind me a bit of the angled art style of Legends.

A stage editor is pretty much a lock, and despite what the trailers implied, assets from games other than Mega Man 2 will be included. As for why the game isn't coming to WiiWare? Size limits, of course. More news will be available come TGS in two weeks; if all goes according to plan, Mega Man Universe should drop on PSN and XBLA in Spring 2011.

PAX 10: Pushing Chun-li's buttons with Mad Catz

Since I love you all so much I have decided to grace you lovely lot with two video interviews with Alex from Mad Catz; I assure you his energy is contagious.

This time we take a look at Mad catz limited edition Chun-Li fight stick. This thing is bloody beautiful, and I'm not lying -- I've seen some pretty amazing designs in my time but this one took my breath away. To save my embarrassment, Daniel Carneiro did edit out me getting my ass kicked at Street Fighter, but the fight stick was great to use, even for a button basher like myself.

Namco Megamixes their arcade classics

by: Sean Colleli
NEWS - First there was Namco Museum. Then Namco remixed that museum. Now, they're Megamixing it. What does that mean? Well for one, Namco Museum Megamix is coming to Wii. While the game contains 18 arcade-accurate ports of Pac-Man, Mappy, Galaga and the like, it also MEGAMIXES six of them up with 3D graphics and new gameplay using gesture controls. There isn't a full list of the included games yet, but I expect we'll get the complete roster soon.

Make like a tree...and read about the Back to the
Future games

by: Ben Berry
NEWS -

It was bound to happen. With hipsters adopting beers and clothing of the 80's, everything good (and bad) from the 80's is coming back. And this time, it's coming back... to the future. That's right Telltale Games is bringing Back to the Future to games in the future. A couple of cool features have been announced. First, they've licensed the likenesses of Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd in the roles they made famous. It really would have been pointless to do the game without them. Second, they've secured Christopher Lloyds vocal talents for the game. I'm guessing they're still pursuing Michael J. Fox, but it's well known that he's limiting how much he takes on as he continues to fight Parkinson's disease. Hopefully, he'll find a way to be involved in the game, especially as voice acting is less involved than screen acting.
