Great news, everyone! Today's live episode (if you can call it that) of The Destructoid Show was a rousing failure, in all the right ways!

You see, as a reward for reaching 50,000 YouTube subscribers, our producer Zac promised us a pizza party. The downside is that we never actually thought we'd make it that far, so in return we promised him that we'd dance live on the show if it ever happened. It's a win-win situation for everybody! Well, except for that poor piñata. (May he rest in peace.)

Anyway, news-wise, people are going nuts for Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim's got a bitchin' soundtrack, Sony's cutting down on game sharing, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Patriots got an official announcement.

Last but not least, if we haven't said it enough times already, thanks so much to each and every one of you who's tuned into the show over the past year. We started this thing over a year ago, fully expecting to be shunned by the website's dedicated and long-time readers. Instead, we were met with open arms and a flood of (mostly) positive encouragement, and I couldn't be happier that Destructoid is the place we now call our home. Thanks for sticking with us, y'all! Are you ready to take your workout to a whole new level? Well then, stop going to that useless gym. Get off that bicycle, and for God's sake, quit walking that corgi. You've got videogames to play! And now the game you've been waiting for all year is finally out next week. That's right, Ubisoft's Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012.

I know it isn't out yet, but can't you just smell the GOTY awards already? It just could be the B.O, but I have a good feeling about this one. A motion-controlled exercise game. Who would've thought to put those two things together? Pure innovation. And with Ubisoft and Kinect involved, what could possibly go wrong?

Verlander named cover athlete for MLB 2K12

NEWS - Aired on the MLB Network, 2K Games made the announcement that Detroit Tigers' pitcher and Cy Young Nominee Justin Verlander will be on the cover for next year's MLB 2K12. There was plenty of debate as to who would grace the cover, with plenty of playoff contenders sporting stars that would be worthy of being touted as the cover athlete.

In real life, the business you can build and grow in Fantasy Safari would be an amazing place to go. After all, who wouldn?t want to visit a safari full of all sorts of magical creatures, from unicorns and dragons to a genie that looks ripped straight out of Aladdin? It?d be pretty awesome. Unfortunately, as great as the premise sounds, the reality of Fantasy Safari is that it?s a pretty standard social zoo management-style game that swaps out tigers and lions for pixies and three-headed hounds.

Simple games are abundant on the iOS platform, but sometimes they just seem too simple. Should they become deeper and more challenging as time goes on, many wait far too long to do so, and boredom sets in. Chicken Rescue is a new game from Ayopa Games that is one such example of this. Best described as a platforming-collection type of game, players attempt to find and rescue their chicks, whilst achieving as high a score as possible.

Ace Combat DLC continues to fly in for gamers

NEWS - Ace Combat Assault Horizon has taken stores by storm since its release date, and now Namco Bandai has teamed up with the United States Air Force and Gamespot to bring forth more content for the flight simulation title. Plenty of interviews and videos will be available on Gamespot while the DLC will trickle in for download all throughout the holiday season. If you haven't had a chance to play Ace Combat Assault Horizon, I suggest you get your fix in before the masses get their hands on another title. This holiday season is expected to be full of chaos with so many incredible launch titles, and the AC:AH multiplayer community is showing great depth.

You want the GOATs of the NBA You've got them.

NEWS - As the NBA continues it's lengthy lockout with no end in sight, fans continue to get their fix for basketball by relying on NBA 2K12, which has put up impressive numbers in sales. Now, 2K Games has announced a large amount of DLC that will be available during the holiday season. If there was ever a way to end the argument regarding who the greatest players of all time were, this is one of the best ways to do it. An impressive 45 players from years past will be available for play in a series of games like HORSE, 21, and challenges.

NBA fans have been trying to keep a cool head regarding the lockout, and it is a shame that the season is not going on right now. At least the gaming industry doesn't come to a standstill when a sports season threatens to end itself.
