Namco Bandai's Zippo lighters may not hold a candle to similar—okay, far superior—recent combustible offerings from Sega, but if you're a huge Xevious fan, Banpresto has a lighter for you, buddy.
Four Zippos themed on classic Namco properties Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Xevious and Galaxian are yours for the pre-ordering and importing, should you have the desire and funds to complete the transaction. I say that because, like the Sega Saturn and Mega Drive Zippos, these aren't cheap. Each is 10,000 yen, equating to a $108.90 USD price at importer National Console Support.
But if you're expecting to need a Zippo in January, these might be exactly what you're looking for.

Last week we talked about Modern Warfare 2's upcoming Avatar gear, some of which was suggested might be free. Well, it's out tomorrow, but it sure as heck ain't free! Step right up folks, for a cavalcade of digital clothing that will cost you plenty of fake Moon Money.
Robert Bowling confirmed via Twitter that Infinity Ward was uploading new MW2 Avatar stuff and showed off the Ghost outfit pictured. He also made sure to let PS3 owners know they weren't being left out, with a selection of Dynamic Themes planned for the Black Box o' Blu-ray.
Bowling said also that he asked for some free goodies, but was "denied" by some mysterious authoratarian entity. So there you go. If you've got some money left after buying the Prestige Edition, the premium strategy guide, and the energy drink, you'll have plenty more content to buy!

Swedish game developer Zoink Games presents Wiiwaa, a Wii adventure game "designed around the concept of puppeteering" that's based around the concept of playing with a stuffed puppet with a Wii Remote jammed inside. Is this for real?
Zoink's trailer of Wiiwaa in action, which largely involves violently shaking a stuffed creature to "explore, jump, dance, [and] do crazy somersaults", would lead one to believe it is. But the conceptual nature of just about everything else on the Wiiwaa site leads us to believe this is, well, a concept.
From Zoink's description of the game, which looks sharp, multiple Wiiwaa puppets are planned for sale. "Each Wiiwaa is different, has individual behavior and looks" the web site claims. Of course, it also claims that "there has never been a simpler and more natural way to play an action adventure game." But at least it looks better than the creeptastic Baby And Me.
We've reached out to the Zoink Games folks to find out what's up with all this Wiiwaa stuff.

From now until January 1, you can get down with your economically conscious self thanks to a deal from Harmonix. Valid at most retailers where you would normally buy videogames from, the Rock Band 2 Special Edition bundle for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 has temporarily dropped down to a slim $99.
Whether you want to get a Christmas present for a distant relative as the family's one true responsible gamer (Petz? Puh-leeze), or you just plain need to upgrade your music game peripheral collection to the Rock Band 2 standard, it's a mighty fine deal to be had.
The header picture? Oh, it's relevant. I'm not going to explain how it's relevant, but believe me when I say that it surely is.
