Germany's Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK), the country's ratings board, have let slip a listing for an upcoming Phoenix Wright title. For the Wii.
There's not much more to it than that, other than the name "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney", so questions like:
"Will it be episodic?"
"When is it out?"
"How much will this cost me?"
"Is there anything new being added to the Wii version?"
Will have to wait for a more official announcement. Judging by the title, though, don't go holding your breath for a new game, or a collection. This is probably just a straight-up port of the existing PC version of Ace Attorney.

Seems kind of obvious to say in light of recent developments, but in an interview with Develop magazine, the Infinity Ward community manager pointed to Twitter as an instant and constant source of feedback in building Modern Warfare 2.
"I communicate with our Twitter followers the same way I'd communicate with my office buddies," Bowling told Develop.
So if something happens I just throw it out there and opinions come in and we converse. Also during development, if we are sitting in a design meeting and we are arguing about something, no matter what it is I can just turn to what is now 60,000 people and post the same question.
Do we think will players like this?' well why don't we ask 60,000 of them and get a good representation of what we think they may like. Twitter has been fantastic throughout development, and I would recommend many, many more people adapted that into their design schedule.
It's not a carte-blanche relationship - the feedback Bowling pulls from Twitter must fit with Infinity Ward's design philosophy. "Typically stuff like: ?we want more gore.' That's against our design philosophy," he says. "We don't make gory games. It's not that we can't, but it's not the experience we go for."
Over the lifespan of this game's development, tons of news has broken through Bowling over Twitter, so it's no surprise that channel has affected the arc of Modern Warfare 2, prerelease. It shows Twitter's not just a pass-through for trivia or hype, as some might dismiss it, but a useful way for both sides to stay in touch.

NEWS - If you own Darkest of Days on the PC and have been itching for the chance to create your own content, this is your day. I might even go so far as to call it your darkest of days. Modders, whip out your typing and clicking fingers because you’ll be exposed to Habitat, the level editing software used by 8monkey on Darkest of Days. You can create your own levels, and even make some graphical mods as the update will also expose you to shader code.
Another intriguing update is the ability to revisit levels and missions wielding a weapon set of your heart’s desire. Phantom EFX calls this update to their gameplay “Instant Action” and is available for download on their site.

Before 2007's Shadowrun released and Microsoft subsequently closed the doors on FASA, the studio was apparently working on Shadowrun: The Awakening -- a game with a full single-player campaign and unique 3D gameplay engine developed in-house. Some footage (teleport past the break to give it a look-see) managed to make its way online over at Unseen64, showing off a few environments and some character animations. As Unseen64 would tell it, the story goes: FASA brought a new art director in which, through a series of unknown events, lead to an eventual cancellation in favor of the multiplayer-driven experience that was the 2007 game.
As it stands now, Jordan Weisman managed to snag the rights to the Shadowrun IP (among others), so the possibility of seeing this resurface as an actual thing isn't entirely impossible -- though Weisman is trying to let some of the negativity surrounding the brand die down a bit before revisiting it.

Electronic Arts' push into Japan doesn't exclude EA Sports, and on his official blog, that division's boss, Peter Moore what his operation can do to invite more Japanese gamers to sports titles, specifically its FIFA franchise.
Japan "is the cradle of our industry," Moore writes, but "one of the frustrations of being an American company attempting to do business in Japan is the insularity of the industry that defends locally-made content and looks down on games from abroad."
Moore mentions his experience with Japan while at Microsoft and acknowledges that factors such as genre, gameplay and art design have been factors in making a breakthrough. But, "with simulation sports games, these issues would seem much less relevant - it's typically about the gameplay. So you can imagine my disappointment every year as we struggle to break through in Japan with our outstanding FIFA franchise."
He goes on:
It is clear we still have work to do in Japan to more fully understand what drives that gamers attraction to sports titles. Let me be clear on this. I recognize that there are many factors that contribute to a gamer's decision to purchase (or not) a particular game, I'd just hate for the gamers in Japan to not get as much enjoyment as the rest of the world out of the best sports game of this console generation.
Honestly, Moore could also be saying the same thing about FIFA's acceptance in the United States. Granted, it sells much better here, but the U.S. is also very hidebound to its domestic traditions, especially the big four of major team sports. Soccer, football, kick-ball, however you call it, is a relatively new sport to Japan no matter its popularity. The J. League (1992), Japan's top tier association, has been around about as long as the MLS (1993). Maybe an MVP Baseball for Japan's Central and Pacific Leagues? Hell, I loved MVP in the States, I'd play that.
It might be a little nearsighted to chalk this up to insularity. It could be other things, such as sports preference and the tradition sports games have in Japan with which I will confess, I don't have much familiarity. Whatever the case, it's clear EA Sports is not exempt from his company's efforts in that market.

Who here hasn't daydreamed about owning a Pandaren Monk before? Really, I'm the only one? Well, screw you guys!
Activision Blizzard, or as the running joke goes, Activision Blizzard is now offering in-game pets for World of Warcraft players who feel the need to adopt a cuddly creature. For $10, a miniature lich called Lil' K.T. or a Pandaren Monk can be tied to your WoW license. No, this isn't fake.
Ordinarily, this is where I would crack a joke at someone's expense (forget the fact that I already did). However, Blizzard gets the pass this time for one reason and one reason only: for every Pandaren Monk sold this year, $5 will be donated to the Make-a-Wish foundation. Awww.

Those Modern Warfare 2 Avatar goodies - of which Robert Bowling said "some" would be free right? - are going to Xbox Live Marketplace, tomorrow, FourZeroTwo says via Twitter. Unfortunately, they'll all cost MS points.
Saith the Infinity Ward community manager:
"Uploading a bunch of #MW2 avatar gear to XBL tomorrow, including this full GHOST outfit!"
Bowling clarified for me that "uploaded" does in fact mean available to you, the gaming public. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like these will be gratis. "I asked for some to be free but was denied." he told me.
