ECS loves....goOoooooOOoOoOoold

NEWS - ECS is making motherboards for both the AMD and Intel side with gold now. Dubbed 15 μ Gold Contact, these motherboards have three times the amount of gold on the CPU socket pins and memory slots to prevent things such as oxidation. This is to ensure better reliability and stability for the long term.

All contacts on the motherboards have a coating of gold to do this but ECS is putting three times more gold on certain motherboards for better protection.

If, you're like me, who constantly changes out parts this can be a beneficial. You do this a lot and you can wear down the contacts of pins. With ECS putting on 3 times more gold, this reduces the chances of wearing out too fast. The initial products that are using this technique are:

Intel Platform G41T-M2 Gold, P55H-A Ultra
AMD Platform A790GXM-AD3 Gold, A785GM-M Ultra

Marvel trademarks 'Iron Fist,' game, film could
be in the works

Recently, Marvel Entertainment went out of its way to trademark "Iron Fist" for use in a number of things. But most relevant to your interests, of course, may be for videogame cartridges, discs, and software. 

While it might seem odd that Marvel could be eying one of its "second string" super heroes for games, it's not entirely out of the question. An Iron Fist film has been rumored for years, seemingly in Hollywood development hell, with martial artist/actor Ray Park reportedly attached. This past March, Variety had reported that Marvel has been assembling writing teams to help launch its lesser-known properties, including Iron Fist, into other media.

The trademark could be an indication that Marvel is serious about finally getting the Iron Fist film property off the ground. Of course, that would also include a videogame, as well as a full line of toys and action figures which Marvel also recently trademarked "Iron Fist" for use with. 

It should be noted that in a financial report released today, Marvel makes no mention of the crime-fighting martial artist. It does, however, mention the films The First Avenger: Captain America (2011), Spider-Man 4 (2011), Thor (2011) and The Avengers (2012). In the world of games, it appears the three previously announced SEGA titles -- Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America -- are all still in the works.

We reached out to Marvel for comment, yet haven't received a response at the time of writing.

That hat in Team Fortress 2 looks familiar

NEWS - Did you pre-order Left 4 Dead 2 and also play Team Fortress 2? Well, the latest update will bring the first Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 together.. sort of. For those that did pre-order, not only did you get early access to the demo but now you can get Bill's hat in Team Fortress 2. Yup, you can walk around wearing Bill's famous military garb on his head without having to do anything special at all.

I haven't played too much TF2 in a while and the only hat I think I have is the halo for not cheating. So, do those that play a lot like the hat feature and if so which one do you wear a lot?

Tomena Sanner is still crazy, even in English

We just recently learned that the strangest Japanese WiiWare one-button side-scrolling game is coming to the US. Tomena Sanner, they call it, and Konami is working on releasing it here early next year.

Today we have a new trailer that shows off some of the wacky side-scrolling that goes on here. Housewife hurdling and dinosaur sliding are the norm in this game. "Dance 'till the sun goes up, dance 'till the sun goes down," says the in-game song. Yes, dance for victory. Dance with giraffes. I need this game.

Two and four-player action are also briefly shown. This is not a game for rolling solo anyway. I'm told that it makes an excellent drinking game.

Zombies Invade Tate Modern For Resident Evil: The
Darkside Chronicles

Hey, you've got red on you.

I love the combination of guerrila theatre, PR marketers, and zombie enthusiasts.  Only they would have the braaaains, sweet braaaains to come up with a stunt like this.  About 50 gatherers infected the Tate Modern in London to mark the end of the London Games Festival and celebrate the upcoming Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles release.

Games on Demand update: BF 2 and FC 2

An additional two games are joining the ranks other ancient games on Microsoft’s console-side digital download platform, according to Xbox LIVE man Major Nelson.

The first of which is EA DICE’s Battlefield 2: Modern Combat -- the only game we know of where you can plant a C-4 charge on a helicopter and blow up your teammates while they’re attempting to parachute behind the enemy front. It’s priced at a reasonable $19.99 and weights in at a whopping 6 GB.

The other hitting Games on Demand is Far Cry 2 -- the only game we know of that forces people to check their position on a real-time paper map while driving. The zebra-slaughtering title isn’t hitting North America as a full game download so it looks like we’ve finally got the bone. At least for now.

So, what the fug are you guys going to do download?

But Was This Cat Game Event Really A Disaster
[Ruh-roh]

Some games are big sellers. Some games do okay. Some do horrible. And then, there's cat game Sukeban Shacho Rena Wii

There was an event for the game at the Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara over the weekend. It featured demo play, a tournament and a dearth of players?

There have been rumors swirling around the internet that 100 copies of the game was sold — haven't seen official numbers, but the game isn't in the sales top fifty.

But all wasn't lost! Some sites are reporting that the actual event packed in some people, that the early pics unfairly represented the event. There is an audience for cat mini-games on the Nintendo Wii. Everything is just fine.

What can I say, people like cats.
