What's the first thing fanboys do when they disagree with a review score? They drag up a giant list of games that scored better/worse than the review they're pissed about, and start whining and moaning about how it's SIMPLY NOT POSSIBLE for Game X to be better than Game Y.
IGN Gave Bionic Commander an 8...but the game is trash and NO ONE liked it. I put no merit into IGN reviews at this point. Every month a new game comes out and I EXPECT a bad review from IGN...he game deserves more than a 6, but then again it isn't GTA,Zelda,Halo, or Mario and we all know games have to be just as innovative as those or IGN dogs it. I'm done with you IGN.
IGN gave ghostbuster an 8.6.... enough said.......
They also gave Assassins Creed a bad review and I loved it and they gave Fight Night Round 4 an 8.6 pff
seriously this game does deserve a 6 but i can't belivee left4dead got a higher graphics rating and ign is being bias.
This guy obviously doesn’t like Overlord games, so why did they give it him to review? IGN really have no consistency giving Ghostbusters a better score (and that really is a travesty).
A game hasn't been this unfairly critized since gamespot gave a 6.0 to Mount and Blade.
Then, we have the standard "YOU HAVE RUINED MY TRUST FOREVER I HATE YOU I WILL NEVER READ THIS SITE AGAIN" nonsense. Some people have finally wised up though, and will now only be trusting GameFAQs message board posters for all their reviewing needs.
You guys overrate games to death all the time, yet you slammed both of these. I just don't get it. The previous Overlord was one of my more memorable experiences from this generation, for a simple reason - fun. I never thought you guys would give me a reason NOT to trust your site. I'm one of the few people on the internet that still defends IGN. Now, I'm having second thoughts.
Yet again another trash review from ign, i think im just gonna stick with going to gamefaqs and reading reviews from actual fans
yeah im going to have to agree although i usually trust ign i don't know about this one i mean yeah the camera control is frustrating it doesn't mean that it ruins the game, i mean look first of all the plot is great the minions are funny and the graphics are good, I'm sorry but look this is kind of a bummer for me because i trust this site and when i see other sites like gamespot or gametrailers they tell you and usually the reviews on ign have been biased to say the least. Its sad to say that I may switch my trustworthiness to gamespot
I can go on and on about the game but there is no point. I'm not a fanboy of the series, I didnt like overlord 1 a lot, and there are few games that I actually complete, this is one of those awesome ones I dedicated my time to. Ignore this amateurish review, buy the game or atleast get the demo to get a taste.
6.3 IGN? seriously? I will always remember the name Erik Burdwig, never trusting another review from him again. Hope you get fired jerk.
This guy is kind of the opposite of most of the fanboys, in that he apparently takes joy in seeing what he feels are bad games get ripped apart. Can YOU spot the egregious spelling error?
It's refreshing to see someone tear an undeserving game a new orphus.
This dude has a brilliant plan to totally reform the industry! Good luck with that, buddy. I'm sure the gaming community would jump at the chance to donate money to reviewers, or pay for reviewer subscriptions.
Of course you aren't going to appreciate games when you're playing them for work for Christ sake. When a pastime becomes a job, all pleasure is lost, and you become hardened to something that is brilliant in it's own light...This is why game journalists shouldn't be paid to write reviews, but paid based on donations and subscriptions to their reviews. That way, they only review what they like, and not what they are forced to play.
And then we get to my favorite part -- personal attacks against the reviewer. While some only 'question his integrity', most go off about how he's a retard and should be fired.
Well I haven't played this game yet but.. Wow does this review seem biased. Firstly, every other review I've read was very positive, and you pretty much didn't say anything good about the game. And whining about no one playing online? Are you sure the game was even released yet when you tried?.. geez. This review put a bad taste in my mouth, not due to the quality of the game, which I'm sure is better than you made it sound, but I seriously question the integrity of this reviewer. Isn't a 6 pretty high for a game you just spent 2 full pages bashing?
I cannot believe you fucking let Brudvig review this game. Shouldn't it be clear maybe someone else should review it when he gave it a negative review for the wrong reasons? You know, like a bug that no one else experienced. I don't know, he didn't like the first one should have let someone else tackle this. Ridiculous.
i think its quite obvious the review of this game is a bit off. id suggest not to put much stock in what this guy wrote about the game. Do not let him dictate your decision in buying or not buying this game. I suggest reading the other reviews as they are a bit more inline with the truth about this game. asshole
These reviewers are more ridiculous with each asinine review they put out. In this economy, these hacks should have been the first to go.
The reviewer should quit his day job. How can you be this ungrateful about getting to play and review games before anyone else? Every review that's come out lately sounds like the author feels so put upon that he had to play the game. Bitches suck.
I'm lucky I pre-ordered it off steam and managed to play it before Iread your review, because I might have been infected with your retardation! You should just quite your job.
By reading the comments I guess this Erik Brudvig guy made another terrible review! He did the same to Prototype when he reviewed it! He wrote some things there that were not true! Now I won't even read this review! GREAT JOB IGN BY HIRING RETARDED PEOPLE LIKE ERIK!!!!! If nothing else, it shows that IGN gives job oportunities to mentally chalenged people! It's a noble thing to do!
The reviewer should get out of the business, clearly a poor life decision was made here.
And that's all she wrote. I'm about kick off my 4th of July holiday weekend with a nice dinner and then a DtoidLA party, so I'm outta here. Have a happy and safe Independence Day (unless you live outside of America -- in that case, you can ponder about how much more FREE America is than whatever communist dictatoriship you live in), and I'll see you all next week.

When people talk about the inevitable downfall of retail videogames from digital distribution, the one topic that always gets mentioned is undoubtedly Steam. However, Valve is here to set the record straight, and clear up what the company views to be a common misconception.
Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Valve's Doug Lombardi says that "A lot of the 'Steam is there to compete with retail' stuff is sort of sensationalized." Not only do Steam's free weekends lead to more players, and more digital downloads, but in the case of Left 4 Dead, the promotion also gave the retail PC and Xbox 360 versions of the popular game an increase in sales.
"[Steam is] about making the games better," says Lombardi. "It's currently a great marketing and promotions channel, and yeah we sell games over it and that's great, but whether people buy games at GameStop, or GAME UK, or on Steam, we get paid."
"So for us, whichever cash register you want to pay at, that's fine." Love the honesty, and you know what, it's all about consumer choice in the end.

In a conversation with Official Xbox Magazine, creative director Maxime Beland, said Splinter Cell Conviction will take around twelve hours to complete on the “Normal” difficulty setting. And those twelve seemingly orgasmic hours won’t be filled with “Game Over” screens -- Beland reckons players won’t be eating baddie bullets often.
“We’re going to ship with difficulty levels,” Beland said, “at least a normal mode and realistic mode -- like we did on Rainbow Six Vegas. And ‘Realistic’ is going to be really f--king hard -- you’re going to need stealth, two bullets is going to kill you, the enemies are going to be super-lethal.”
Beland then noted that in Normal mode players “are going to spend 12 hours playing our game and not 30 because they’re dying all the time.”
Twelve hours of Conviction sounds good to us, however, we wouldn’t mind more time with Mr. Fisher. He seems so lonely.
