If we created a “Bulkiest Space Marine Armor of the Year” award it’s quite possible Section 8 would run away with the it. The men of Section 8 are wearing some of the bulkiest, most burdensome stuff we’ve ever seen. But there’s a point (beyond beating Epic Games at their own rough-and-tough-dude game): the soldiers in Section 8 are sci-fi paratroopers and when they jump, they hit the ground hard.
Below the fold is a lengthy trailer for the game. It focuses on the jumping gimmick and shows off a few of the equally armor-burdened enemies in the game. You’ll see plenty of pew pew lasers, rockets, weird robot things, and even knives if you choose to brave the page break.
When we saw the game at E3 2009, we came away pleasantly surprised: The loose shooting (as seen in the trailer) and the jumping mechanics impressed. In a few words, it looks like this SouthPeak Interactive game will be better than Velvet Assassin -- not a mighty accomplishment, but reassuring nonetheless.
The PC and Xbox 360 versions of Section 8 hit retail August 25.

Hi. How are you? I'm fine, thank you. And you?
Today, right now at this very moment, it's Friday. Can you feel it? That means one thing and only one thing: It's time time to talk. Let's TUD it up, you and me and that guy over there. Together.
This is TELL US DAMMIT. What is TELL US DAMMIT? This is TELL US DAMMIT.
Here's how it works: We ask a question, you answer it. Simple and no strings attached! This isn't some marketing survey or whatever. It's an emotional investment in you. Yes, we're interested in knowing you, Kotaku reader person.
You probably know oodles about us - more than you even want to, we're sure. But, hey, we'd like to know about you. That way you won't be some faceless blob - and we might feel a tinge of guilt when we ban ya. Or not, because really we're incapable of human emotion.
Question: Do you game during national holidays?

We can't be gaming all the time, despite our best efforts, and from time to time we'll actually take advantage of the movie-playing abilities on our gaming systems. JBO features our top picks for XBL, PSN, Netflix's Watch Instantly, and Blu-ray each week.
Recommendation of the Week:
Sunshine (Blu-ray: $29.99): We all know about Danny Boyle and Slumdog Millionaire; winning a few Oscars will do that to your movie, particularly if it's great. However, his sci-fi masterpiece Sunshine is severely underrated and underwatched. The Sun becomes an ominous character in this taut thriller, which, granted, has a plot point that could be completely jettisoned to make for a perfectly streamlined film. However, the sound, the action, and the attention to detail in this movie make this a must see in HD.
Read for the full list on a system by system basis just after the break, this time with a bent toward the upcoming Independence Day holiday this Saturday. As usual, we'll see you at the popcorn st ... well, actually we won't see you at all. But you catch our drift.

The founding of a nation is pretty significant and well worth getting excited about. The best way to display said excitement is, of course, with massive, colorful airborne explosions, a.k.a. fireworks. Tomorrow night, towns across the USA will be putting on fireworks displays, big and small -- but why should you have to wait for it to get dark? The games you'll find after the break will let you get all explode-y from the comfort of your living room, without the charred mess and frantic 911 call. So, put on your favorite patriotic tune (it's "The Stars & Stripes Forever" for us) and make with the clicking![Image]

Normally, hardware bundles are a spotty affair. A game you don't really want, or two games, one you kinda want, one you just do not want. But this bundle, on sale at Best Buy next Sunday, looks great!
Sent in by a Best Buy employee, and confirmed by other BB employees, it's an 80GB PS3 bundled with copies of two of the biggest games on the system: Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2. All that for the asking price of a standard PS3, $400.
It's one hell of a bundle. It's like getting a Wii with Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy, or a 360 with Gears 2 and Halo 3. But perhaps more importantly, it's also one hell of a saving; perhaps Best Buy need to clear out their stock of 80GB PS3s for oh, I don't know, a new PS3?

Add to myYahoo!I decided today to check out NYC's new Highline Park. What once was an elevated train track, a relic of the past, is now a modern park setting, stories high above Manhattan's West Side. It truly is a gorgeous sight, but hovering over 15th St. and 10th Ave., I noticed a tiny visitor below me. Do you see him? Keep reading to see a closer look:

My Dearest Felicity,
Prithee, I hope this letter finds thee well. Our distance makes my heart yearn for you, like an A misses Zed. I spend my days contemplating napkins and seeing the colour of your eyes in the tweed jackets of the commoners walking by. The hours are long here in The Colonies. Bennington tells me that, at Her Majesty's University of New Yorkshire, they are on the verge of perfecting a machine that allows one to play games through the telly. Imagine that! To have such a magnificent device in 2009 would be ever so pip-pip hooray in passing the time. I plan to put on my finest wig tomorrow and travel there to experience their first "video game" for this device. What sport are you participating in currently?
Humbly yours,
Sir Robin Woolcott Ellington Spencer of Covington Crossing, Virginia
