EU Gran Turismo 5 demo coming December 17

EU Gran Turismo 5 demo coming December 17 screenshot

EU, as in Europe. No news for us yet on a Gran Turismo 5 demo.

The European PlayStation Blog confirms that a demo of the long awaited PS3 version of Polyphony Digital's only claim to fame is coming December 17th. They're calling it the GT Academy 2010 Time Trial, where all of Europe will race down to the top twenty from each country, all using the above pictured car, a Nissan 370Z. A posting of top times is required by January 24th. Then, the top twenty nationally will go on to the GT Academy. Win it all and become a real frickin' race driver, thanks to Nissan and Sony.

I'd bet they give us the demo too. Not the cool contest, though.

Bitcast: Episode 77... What the What

That's right party peoples, the bitcast podcast is back with a VENGEANCE! It's been in the planning stages for a little while now, as we only wanted to make a comeback if we were dedicated enough to the cause to make it work (We even used Google Wave to talk about it!).

Well, here we are... back in full effect. And by "full effect" I mean we have the original crew of Kevin, Jim, Dan and Ryan. It's like 2008 all over again. We'll be doing bi-weekly episodes from here on out, since it's a more realistic goal in the "how do we fit this into our lives" department.

This week we talk about:

  • Where the hell we've been
  • What the hell we've been playing
  • News... and stuff
  • Yo, is there like a best game you've played this year? Maybe a "game of the year?"
  • Games that dun got released this week

Avatar Pets go live on Xbox Live

I think the Avatar thing is streching kinda too far, just saw Major Nelson’s tweet about the Avatar Pets now available on Xbox Live service, could see 1o animals in the list, the list even has a pug dog, hmm i think Vodafone has a good opportunity here to advertise, are we so sick of [...]

Machinarium Review

In a world where big budgets and development teams often steal the spotlight, it's wonderful when an indie game created by a small team on a strict budget can make those blockbuster titles disappear into the background. Created by Amanita Design, a small game studio from the Czech Republic, Machinarium was the winner of the 12th annual Independent Games Festival's Excellence in Visual Arts award, and it's easy to see why.

Machinarium Walkthrough

Welcome to Gamezebo's walkthrough for Machinarium.

Machinarium is a point-and-click adventure game that is somewhat different than your traditional adventure game. What sets it apart from other adventure games is that the interface is very minimalist compared to most games and it doesn't have any spoken dialogue whatsoever throughout the game. All dialogue is conveyed through sound effects and picture bubbles.

Click on the title and watch as it disappears to reveal the main menu. Unless you've previously played the game, the only option available to you is to start a new game.

iPhone: Frogger

Pong. Pac-Man. Centipede. Tetris. Galaga. Burger Time. Ah, just thinking about all of those classic video games takes me back to those moments in time when I first discovered that our TV could be used to play a game (Pong). Or that I was actually good at something down at the corner arcade (Pac-Man). Or that I could beat the pants off my brother at a video game (Burger Time). Twenty five years later, it is wonderful now to see these classic games make their way onto my preferred gaming device, the iPhone. Like the other classic games of the 80's, Frogger has always been one of my favorites. But the question is: does it work on the iPhone?

Here comes Hellgate Tokyo

by: John Yan
NEWS - I thought Hellgate London was OK and had potential. I'm still sad to this day that we don't get to play multiplayer in the US on private servers. I mean, I'd probably be playing with a few of my friends if they would just release a personal server so that we can get online. But no, all that went to Hell with all the legal ramblings that went with the game.

Well, coming in 2010 will be Hellgate Tokyo. I'm guessing this is the same as Hellgate: Resurrection that was announced a few weeks ago? HanbitSoft is taking the reigns on this one after all the legal ramifications and I  wonder if there will be U.S. servers. I'm probably not going to pick it up though but I wish the HabitSoft folks the best of luck in trying to bring back a franchise.
