NEWS - Engadget points out that this month marks the 30th anniversary of the launch of the Atari 2600, the widely successful home console. I still remember the countless hours of time I spent with the console. At the time it came out my family was stationed in Germany and my dad had to bring one back from a trip stateside as they weren't available in the PX (Post Exchange for you non-military brats). There were so many classic games like Yars Revenge and Adventure (along with craptacular ports of Defender and Pac Man). My sister still has the 2600 and fires it up from time to time over the holidays but it's weird realizing that the system is over 30 years old.
