Rare WILL fix Banjo-Kazooie text issues

Rare WILL fix Banjo-Kazooie text issues? screenshot

Earlier in the week we reported that there would be no fix coming for the barely legible text in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. The text was so small that it rendered the game practically worthless for SDTV owners, and wasn't much easier to read in Hi-Def.

Rare was quoted as saying that a fix would be far too expensive to implement but it seems that, possibly due to nasty fan backlash, minds have been changed and the text will now be altered.

"It has come to our attention that people are experiencing subtitle readability issues with Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts on Standard Definition TVs," stated community manager George Kelion. "We would like to assure you that contrary to earlier reports, we are aware of the issue and currently working on a title update to be released within the next 30 days that will fix it for those with Standard Definition TVs. We're committed to ensuring all fans of the franchise are able to have the best experience possible with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts."

Quite the turnaround, but it's good to know. Tiny text has become some sort of fad lately and there really is no need for it. Just because games can appear in Hi-Def now, it doesn't mean everyone has also gained some sort of ultravision. Keep text clear and functional ... it should really be a design basic, shouldn't it?
