
Sony had a lot of surprises up their sleeve at E3, and while ModNation Racers might not have been the biggest for most people, it quickly won the top spot in my eyes. Expanding on the notion of "Play. Create. Share" that LittleBigPlanet introduced us to last fall, ModNation Racers is as much about building and sharing awesome track designs online as it is about kart-racing. Smacking with personality, ModNation Racers easily fits in the hearts of casual folks and hardcore gamers alike. Like LittleBigPlanet should have been, this could be the one title that is on every gamers lips this holiday season. 
Again like LBP, this is one of those rare titles that seems to promise infinite customability. The character models are based on the popular vinyl toys that promise self-styled artists the same level of infinite possibility. After watching the live demo at the E3 presser, I'm inclined to believe that's right. But the characters aren't the only things that are customizable; track designs can be made, uploaded, and shared with the world. And in breaking from LBP comparisons, creating your own levels looks to be easy.
