Next game in the Skylanders franchise has been
announced

NEWS - Fans of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure might be happy to know that a new game is on the horizon. Skylanders Giants will introduce eight new figures that are more than twice the size of the main cast, both physically and virtually, and their in-game powers and abilities will reflect their size. Skylanders Giants will also include a set of characters that feature new light technology integrated into the toys, which will allow the figure to light up when near or on the Portal of Power, and also have additional in-game benefits.

But what if you invested a lot of money into the figures you have now? Not looking forward to buying even more figures? Well, of course you might want to pick up a couple new figures to try them out, but the game is also forward compatible with the older figures. Every character from Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure is 100% compatible with Skylanders Giants, keeping their leveled-up stats and customizations intact.

Skylanders Giants is looking to be released this fall, but I haven't seen which platforms it'll be on. If I had to guess, I'd say at least the platforms Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure was released on, which was, the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and 3DS.
