Get Ready For Ten Years of Gears [Gears Of War]

Gears of War is a hugely successful franchise. It's what the kids call a "juggernaut." But don't expect this juggernaut to fade like the summer sun. Oh no.

Gears of War 2 writer Joshua Ortega dished during a recent New York Comic-Con Gears panel: "You will not be disappointed in the next ten years...It's a ten-year plan. Gears is long-term. The lancer is the new lightsaber."

As game site VideoGamer points out, a decade of Gears of War would take us to 2016. Think about it. Saber rattling aside, that doesn't seem out of the question, and if other successful game franchises are anything to go by, don't be surprised if we get two decades of Gears. Now, think about that!
