Believe it or not, I used to read Archie comics. Y'know, Archie. First created in 1939, continuing today, still adhering to the principles of the Comics Code Authority. That Archie. And it's getting a game.
Archie's Riverdale Run, developed by fXLabs of Hyderabad, is scheduled for release on the PC - and eventually consoles. According to the description, it will finally allow players to "assume the roles of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, or Reggie as they explore the town of Riverdale solving fun and challenging missions." Couldn't have happened soon enough, I say.
You'll have "12-14 hours of engaging game play" in which to experience the world of Archie comics rendered in full 3D! That's the bee's knees, daddy-o!
Check below for a grand, epic trailer cued to contemporary Archie-themed music. The music is...well, it's something, but still can't match "Sugar Sugar" in my mind.
It's like Fallout 3's Tranquility Lane, except in color. And completely serious. This is a thing that is happening.
